Avoiding Fees
The easiest account to keep fee free is the classic business checking account, it has a $10 monthly fee and it’s waived if you do either of the following:
- a minimum daily balance of at least $3,000 in this account OR
- a combined average monthly balance of $6,000 in linked combined money market, savings or CD balances
Our Verdict
They are also offering a bonus of up to $300 for their personal checking account (no branch visit required). This business offer is pretty good, but having to go into a branch sort of kills it unless you live close to a branch and it doesn’t take long to open. For now we won’t add it to our recommended offers page. Feel free to share your experiences in the comments below.

As an FYI for those who are interested in opening an account, they require a "Drive By" of the address for verification that it is a valid address. First bank that has ever done that for a business account.
