Our Verdict
They have offered bonuses of up to $300 in the past but that required deposits of $50,000. The $300 deal is back and only requires $25,000 this time. This account earns 0.01-0.02% APY, so basically nothing. If you put the $25,000 into a 2.5% APY account for 91 days (enough for the bonus to hopefully post and avoid the early account termination fee) you’d earn $155, so I think you’re best off sticking with the $150 bonus.
The $150 deal is the one most people usually went for and that’s the same except it’s a little bit more difficult to keep the account fee free this time around as having $1,000 in there no longer waives the monthly fee. Still worth doing if you’re in the area I think and because of that I am adding it to our page on the best bank account bonuses. Some people might want to wait for the version with no direct deposit to return.

6/21 $150 bonus posted in my account
Debit card purchases were done in March and April. Have been depositing $20 in the ATM every month to avoid the fee, not a hassle for me since I work near one of the branches.
Does anyone has the bonus screenshot for the promo that ended on Nov 2, 2018?
I opened account on Nov 2, 2018 online and did 20 debit card transactions but BOW claimed that they can’t find this promotion? WTF
Up above
I messed up with the debit card transactions. I didn't read closely enough at the terms and that it is calendar months, not statement months. I did 10 on 3/28 (I opened earlier in March) and was about to do 10 more now. Oh well. You win some and you lose some.
Has anyone had someone in branch call them up about a month after the account was open? I got a courtesy follow up call a little over a month after opening my account. I didn't hear the voicemail until today because my inbox is a bit messed up right now. Should I go in branch for a follow up or should I just ignore it since they haven't contacted me back since? There's one by my work but it's not the same branch as the person who called me.
I've gotten calls from other banks asking if there's anything else they can do for (sell) me or if i have any questions on my newish account.
Did they leave a message with a reason to call back? If not I'd ignore it personally and assume they were trying to sell you an additional product.
Citi AA Biz coded as cash advance on 4/1
Several DPs on Reddit today that although Bank of the West had been coding as a purchase earlier in March, people who did it in the final few days of this offer got hit with cash advances. Chase (CIP) and Capital One DPs reported, despite having reduced CA limits. https://old.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/b8hrwn/bank_account_bonus_week_of_april_02_2019/ejymg1k/
(I can't keep up with the giant mess of scattered information that their dumb daily threads format forces most information into lately, but happened to read the new bank bonus weekly thread today and spotted this....)
Signed up for the new $250 bonus offer today funding with Double Cash. Shows pending as a purchase...so far, so good.
DannyDealGuru just posted that it's extended to 4/26 now and $250. I'm still ineligible by less than a month due to BOTW taking forever to post my bonus in Nov 2017. Tempting to push it but I'll just wait it out and hopefully the next round will be as good.
