Barclaycard Arrival Plus No Longer Available?

Update: Barclays has launched a new Premier credit card.

For some time the Barclaycard Arrival Plus has been unavailable, I’m unsure when links first stopped working but currently I can’t find any working links. Originally I thought this was some type of maintenance, but it’s now been at least a week if not two since the links stopped working. This isn’t the first time this has happened either, it also happened in 2016 and in 2015 as well. In the 2015 instance when the card was reintroduced, negative changes were made. I don’t think any changes happened in the 2016 instance, but I could be wrong. When questioned about this on the Barclaycard Travel Community, it’s clear the community manager doesn’t know what’s going on as they refer people to the Barclaycard ring card.

If/when the card does become available for sign up again, will we post an update.

Update: Apparently affiliate links were working until a day or two ago. They are now no longer working.

  • Annoying company , they wouldn’t waive AF after I used it for a year of real spend and spent $65k . Dropped them like it was hawt. Have the no AF as a sock drawer card now, haha Barclay sucks

  • Got AF refunded after PC to Rewards MC, wherein it had offer for a $50 stmt credit with a min spend of $1k/mo for 3 months, and 1k pt for making 1st purchase

    • Not a great card according to the reviews, if you look at the comments on credit Karma they expect you to be a screw up if you have this card.

      • the rewards card? even if so, PCd to avoid the AF, keep the pts & same time keep the acct history

Could it be that Barclays is getting to re-launch it's United States credit card portfolio on April 1, 2018?

If you look at the current list of available cards, none of them are a Barclaycard, other than Ring, and are all co-brand cards.

    https://cards.barclaycardus.com/cards.list.html

Again, I expect I an announcement on April 1, 2018 as they re-brand from Barclaycard to just "Barclays" in the United States. My question - are they launching new Barclays-branded cards on that date - or is it just a BIG April Fool's joke?

Let's see if Barclay will spill the beans early...

Hello Everyone, Just wanted to update this thread with the latest information. We have currently discontinued this offer so we can test and evaluate different offers to determine which is the most valuable to consumers. Nothing will change for cardmembers who already have the Barclaycard Arrival Plus Mastercard. Current Arrival Plus cardmembers should continue using their card with confidence.

      • That would be too rich. They'll discontinue such a program within a month. I could MS myself months worth of free flights and stays in a matter of a few weeks.

  • @Andrey you can also get a no-AF card that has no FTF, like the Barclay Uber, or First Tech FCU Choice, or others. With the Uber, It’ll cost you 1% in opportunity cost for some things, but you’ll probably more than make it up in hotel/dining/airfare which return 3% or 4%.

  • Barclay cards are always disappearing and reappearing on their site. I don't think they know or care what they are doing at that bank. They don't seem very interested in approving many people, either.

  • I have this card, and in the most recent statement they sent me, there was a notice saying that they are rebranding from Barclaycard to Barclays. I wonder if this rebranding has anything to do with the card being unavailable.

  • I’ve applied 3 times for this card over the past three years and they’ve denied the app three times so meh.

    • They typically reject you despite their shitty rewards and their direct inquires for every application

  • I don't see how the card can be profitable. I got 560 dollars meeting the sign up bonus. Then I got another 100 posting on their travel website and haven't used the card since. Seems this and the Venture got more selective about approving as both cards are just giving away 500 dollars and are both 2 percent cash back cards or in Barclay's case 2.1 percent back.

    • Unfamiliar with the $100 for posting on their travel website; was that a limited time frame it was offered, or available now?

      • You can write 100 stories per month. Each story with a picture is a minimum of $1.50, but I average about $2.70 per story. There's a 10% redemption bonus, too. If you travel a lot, it's really easy to write them. They take about 10 minutes.

      • You can make more than 100 dollars if you want. Just post a ton of travel stories. The sky is the limit.
