Our Verdict

Best ever offer is 90,000 miles or 80,000 miles + $99 credit. This offer is obviously significantly worse but readers may still consider this offer as Alaska Airlines is acquiring Hawaiian and there is some speculation the loyalty programs will be combined at a 1:1 rate. The nice thing about Barclays business cards is that they don’t report to your personal credit report, so it won’t count towards your 5/24 status. Personal card is also 70,000 miles currently.

  • Barclays kills me sometimes.

App went pending and then denied the next day, called recon and they said their system saw it as a "duplicate application" even though I haven't applied for a Barclays card in months. Was approved for $1.7k (lol) CL, but then got transferred to a security team who asked to fax or mail in a bunch of documents (ID, SS card, and utility bill).

What's silly is they already have all of this, I was forced to mail in the exact same documents a few years ago for a JetBlue biz card. I can't believe it's 2024 and there isn't an online option to do this identity verification.

  • Applied for the personal card last week with 26k CL, approved. Applied for the biz card this week, went to pending. Waited a few days and they called to confirm application and asked if I'm willing to move over some CL for the biz card, and then approved.

  • Applied on 8/26, went pending for review. Just got a welcome to e-statements email. Logged into the app (only have a personal AA Aviator) and this biz card is now there. So apparently approved with a tiny 2500k limit, at least minimum spend is just 2k lol.

  • Approved for Wyndham Biz on July 2nd -- any DP on how quickly you can be approved for a second biz card in such a short window?

  • DP - Applied Friday, went pending. Have AAdvantage Aviator Red card with little activity. Still haven't heard back

  • I recently (3-4 days ago) applied and was approved for the bus card under the 50k 4k offer . Any recent data point on barclay matching welcome offers? Better to call or secure message? I would have waited but wanted to merge pulls with the personal card (which they did). I guess thats a trade off, but maybe not a 20k mile trade off.

    • I applied on 8/24. Went to pending and approved 8/31. Received card 9/6. Called the customer service number 9/7 (Saturday). Front line agent said there was nothing she could do to change the offer. When I asked who could change the offer she said no one. I will try again during the week a couple of times before giving up.

    • dont' think they comes with that benefit. also the personal one needs to pay using that card. quite picky on the condition getting the free check bag.
