[Expired]Buy Costco Membership & Get $40 Cash Card, Plus $40 Online Coupon (GRPMKT21; Stack with $20 Dosh)

Update 9/14/21: Available again.

The Offer

Direct Link to offer

  • Signup for a new Costco membership (costs $60 or $120) with promo code GRPMKT21 and opt in for auto-renewal on a Visa card, and you’ll get:
    • $40 Costco Cash Card
    • Coupon for $40 off $250+ online order at Costco.com

The Fine Print

  • Must opt in for auto-renewal
  • Offer expires on Oct. 3, 2021
  • Note: You will see a $0.01 deduction on your membership cost after the promo code is entered. This indicates that your promo code has been accepted and you will receive the promotion incentive.
  • Promotional Costco Shop Card incentive will be mailed 4 to 6 weeks after sign-up; it will be mailed to the address provided by the member. $40 off any order of $250+ on Costco.com will be emailed 1-2 weeks after sign-up, to the email address on file.
  • Limit one promotion per household
  • Valid for new memberships only. To qualify as a new member, an existing Costco membership must be expired at least 18 months or more.
  • Not valid for renewal of an existing Costco membership or an upgrade of an existing membership to an Executive Membership

Our Verdict

The $40 back will bring down the membership cost from $60 to $20. If you value the online coupon, it can bring down the cost to less than zero. A number of stacks:

  • Dosh is offering $20 back for online Costco membership purchases – you can click through from Dosh, then navigate to the promo page, pay with a Dosh-connected card. (Note: it’s possible that since the price is $59.99 and not $60, as noted in the fine print, it won’t trigger the Dosh cashback.)
  • You can also go through Rakuten for an extra $10 back. Update: apparently this does not stack with promo code.
  • There’s a Chase Offer for $10 back on $60 membership purchase, reported by readers. It likely won’t work given the charge will just be $59.99, but it should work for an Executive membership charge of $119.99.
  • It’s possible this will stack with the Wyndham promotion for $60 back on Costco membership, if you were targeted for that.

Hopefully the Dosh will track and make this a real moneymaker.

  • I never got the $40 card. Anyone else have this problem? How do you get the card. I'm tempted to just get a membership refund.

    • @guest_1385604 It was to be mailed 4-6 weeks after membership signup (or 6-8 weeks given USPS) Contact customer service. Never had an issue with Costco CS.

  • Signed up 9/20, received coupon code yesterday for $40 off online order of $250+. Sadly costco shop cards are excluded in terms, and don't trigger the $40 off. Probably pretty useless to me now. Haven't received the shop card yet.

  • how long did it take for the costco coupon and card to arrive? signed up on 9/19 and havent gotten anything in the mail so far, got an email to sign up for auto pay to qualify and i did on 9/23

  • Got the $40 physical shop card in mail today. Too bad Dosh did not track. Anybody knows a good use for that 40 off 250 coupon ?

    • Got mine in the mail today as well. Dosh also didn't track for me.

Coupon looks to work for the gift card sales today, best chance to cash in imo.

      • Are you sure ? I thought GCs were excluded and Costco does not seem to sell good GCs anyway. I have not use for airlines or Hulu.

  • "Auto renewal required at sign-up."

There is no option for this during sign-up - only to save the payment card to profile. After sign-up, you are able to opt-in to auto-renewal in Account>Auto-Renew, but not before.

  • Thanks for sharing. Too bad about Dosh. I got the $40 off coupon via email but no physical cash card yet. How lenient is Costco about refunding the membership charge ? I have no use for the membership, I do like a couple of items that Costco carries but not enough to actually shop there.

  • Got the same message as Ryan below - apparently Dosh doesn't stack anymore. They said i used OFFERS21 promo code - but i actually used GRMKT21 lol

  • think the term states the 2nd person must be a household member with the same address; any rate, was any folks able to get secondary card with different address?
