If you bought a new VIZIO television in the State of California after April 30, 2014, you may be entitled to payment from a class action settlement. The Settlement resolves a lawsuit alleging that VIZIO’s advertisement of its Televisions as having a “120Hz Effective Refresh Rate” or “240Hz Effective Refresh Rate” was false and misleading.
The Settlement Awards will be paid at up to $50 per valid Claim and subject to pro rata decrease, depending on the number of all approved Claims submitted.

Just received an email stating I will receive an email shortly to claim my payout: $28.82
I don't remember the details of what I put in the submission.
Never had any issues with my Vizio TV, but this seems like a nice pickup. Vizio has actually been more reliable to me than Samsung, Sony, TCL, etc.
searched my email just in case (lived in CA for several years) and what do you know...I bought a Vizio model listed on the drop-down in SF in 2016. Laughed out loud, and submitted via the receipt option.
asks for a claim code. Never got an email or mail since i didn't register my Vizio from Walmart in 2014.

Still requires documentation though. What if someone bought, disposed and no longer has any records?
They are asking for name of recycler etc, but my city has recycling once a year where you can just drop off your e-waste at the curb...
There’s another option to submit without a code.
I emailed them a few days ago to highlight that issue, and they updated the site yesterday to allow for submissions without a code.
