If you bought a new VIZIO television in the State of California after April 30, 2014, you may be entitled to payment from a class action settlement. The Settlement resolves a lawsuit alleging that VIZIO’s advertisement of its Televisions as having a “120Hz Effective Refresh Rate” or “240Hz Effective Refresh Rate” was false and misleading.

The Settlement Awards will be paid at up to $50 per valid Claim and subject to pro rata decrease, depending on the number of all approved Claims submitted.

If you are eligible, it’s easy enough to file a claim.

  • Just received an email stating I will receive an email shortly to claim my payout: $28.82

I don't remember the details of what I put in the submission.

  • Never had any issues with my Vizio TV, but this seems like a nice pickup. Vizio has actually been more reliable to me than Samsung, Sony, TCL, etc.

  • searched my email just in case (lived in CA for several years) and what do you know...I bought a Vizio model listed on the drop-down in SF in 2016. Laughed out loud, and submitted via the receipt option.

  • asks for a claim code. Never got an email or mail since i didn't register my Vizio from Walmart in 2014.
