Update History
- Update 10/7/23: Available again, also available via referrals. Do not share links in the comments.
- Update 9/15/23: new bonus is 90,000 points. Hat tip to mehjoo_
- Update 10/21/22: Just a reminder to those who applied when this card was launched last November: time to finish using up the $300 Capital One Travel credit and the $200 vacation credit. (ht Dansdeals)
- Update 3/15/22: The 100,000 + $200 vacation credit is expired. New offer is for 75,000 points; this one has a much lower spend requirement of just $4,000 within 3 months.
- Update 3/14/22: Some are reporting this offer will end at 2:59pm EDT, in another 20 minutes.
- Update 3/1/22: We’ve heard from Capital One that the signup bonus offer (100,000 + $200) will be valid until March 14th. We don’t know what the new offer will be afterward.
- Update 12/7/21: Various reports from readers and others indicate that a wide variety of vacation or travel related purchases might be eligible for the $200 signup bonus statement credit, beyond just Airbnb and VRBO. Try it out and see what works for you.
Our Verdict
This is the rumored card we mentioned a few weeks ago, and the card is now live. This card is an enhanced version of the Venture Miles cards with with $300 higher annual fee, and coming with a $300 booking credit, 10,000 miles annual bonus, and many premium benefits. It’s certainly interesting for the signup bonus of 100,000 miles, especially now with the limited-time $200 vacation rental credit.
Beyond the signup bonus: someone who already has Priority Pass access might not find this card much more interesting than the regular Venture card. Even then, most travelers will find it worth the extra $300 which gets you a $300 booking credit, 10,000 anniversary miles, primary car rental coverage, 10x multiplier on hotel/car bookings, authorized user lounge access, and access to Capital One lounges.
Capital One isn’t always easy to get approved with, though for this card, specifically, I’m seeing like 50-50 approvals by readers so it seems they are approving easier for this card. Also note that the card is available for product changes; you won’t get the signup bonus, but it’s an option if you were declined. Just got this offer in the mail today... I guess it's back
Do you have the pic of the QR code?
Any link?
P2 got the same offer today in the mail. No direct link. Need a reservation # and access code. Offer expires 10/26
Got one today for the regular Venture, 90k miles with 6k spend. Got excited thinking it was the VX. Still waiting.
Dang. Any clue why you got it?
I’ve filled out the pre-approval and was pre-approved, but never received any mailing for VX. I do get mail offers for QuickSilver though.
DP: General preapproval link did not show Venture X. Tried the specific preapproval link and it said I am not preapproved. Applied same day later and got approved!
what sign up bonus did you get?
One would assume 75k.
Here's my referral link if anyone cares to use! thank you: https://i.capitalone.com/JEssWmWeI

Thanks, nice info in one post. Do you know if the capital one has a limit on how.often you can get a bonus. I got one for Capital Venture back in Dec,22 and closed the card in September, 23
Is the SUB for this card churnable? Recently downgraded my card and am curious if I could sign up again for the bonus in a couple of years.

2/13/2024 10k "Anniversary Bonus" miles posted
Compared to last year, the bonus came two weeks warlier

Does Venture X just not show up on the Pre Approval tool or am I not elite enough? :D
It exists, but at the end it essentially tells me, churners need not apply
https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/preapprove/venture-x/
@guest_1777301 FWIW - somehow I was approved for the Venture and then the Venture X 3 months later. Right around 5/24.
So no point in applying for it?
If 90 or 100k comes up again I seem to keep missing these opportunities, been waiting for the last year to see the bonus go back up.
looks like the 90000 mile offer is over (doc links are dead), but on a positive note, if you are referring a family member the referral is back to 75k for P2 and 25k for you. Just shifting who gets the 15k, P1 or P2.
If you do only one referral, it makes no difference other than P2 having fewer transfer points. If you do two referrals at 25k you will get hit with the 1099k because of the existing 100 credit for GE/TSA, so the 10k is preferable for those who want to avoid the tax forms.
The point about 1099 is a good point, but it applies to people who used that benefit in the same year. GE/TSA is a one every 4 (or 5) years benefit... so if you do not do GE/TSA you can safely do 2 referrals.
Also, if you need to apply to GE/TSA, then pay from the P2 card (assuming P2 did not need 2 referrals), or whoever is the last in the chain of family referrals.
There are SO MANY cards offering GE/TSA, so if you are trying to max out the referral bonuses, just do not use VentureX for GE/TSA - use another card.
If you have no other option.. and OK with TSA, you probably still can do 2 referrals and TSA (as it is not $100, but $85). You may fly under $600. They value their points at some rediculous value of 1.000x cents per point. When I got my 1099 for 2 referrals and GE I got 1099 for something like $604.xx, so if you do TSA credit of $85 (not a GE) you should be fine as well even with 2 referrals.
Good luck.
Some people were able to create referral links that were 25K for the referrer and 90K for the referred. For those people, this current offer is strictly worse.
For those who did a P2 as an authorized user and signed up P2 for their own card later, what are you doing with the extra Priority pass coupons?
Nothing.. what can you do with multiple PP memberships? Keep them, just in case if you end up closing one of the cards, you will have PP from another. I have probably 6 or 7 cards which provide PP access... at some point you just stop even activating that benefit.
I was able to see 90K offer with the 2 URLs in the main post. Not any more unfortunately. It changed on 12/15. Damnit. I waited for 1 day and the offer is gone now. Such a disappointment.
If anyone is able to see 90K offer or have referral for one, please let me know. Would be happy to get one.
