In mid November Capital One announced that miles would be transferable to 12 airline loyalty programs sometime in December at a rate of 2 Capital One miles to 1.5 airline miles. These transfers are now possible. They have added an additional two transfer partners (Emirates & Singapore), unfortunately these two transfer partners transfer at a rate of 2 Capital One miles to 1 airline mile. The full list of transfer partners is below (2:1.5 unless otherwise stated)
- Aeromexico
- Aeroplan (Air Canada)
- Alitalia
- Avianca
- Cathay Pacific
- Emirates (2:1 rate)
- Etihad Airways
- EVA Air, Finnair
- Flying Blue (Air France and KLM)
- Hainan Airlines
- Qantas
- Qatar Airways
- Singapore (2:1 rate)
Keep in mind Capital One is currently also offering an increased bonus of 75,000 miles on the Capital One Venture card and up to 200,000 miles on the Capital One Business Spark Miles card. I’m not a massive fan of having different transfer partners at different transfer levels, but I guess it’s better to at least have more options than less even if the transfer rates aren’t as good.

I've tried to research this but haven't had much luck. How picky is Capital One about buying gift cards to meet the minimum spend requirement? I was planning on doing this to pay bills that generally only take cash. VGC to money order to payee. Thanks!
Just adding some positivity to this thread, Aeroplan is actually pretty nice for booking domestic United award flights. Other partner flights across the pond seem to be competitively priced as well. Happy flying!
2:1 doesn't sound good on the surface, but you earn 2:1 on $ spent. So basically you're getting 1:1 per dollar for these 2 airlines. Yeah, not awesome, but I look at it as another avenue if you want points in these particular airlines.
If they could add a domestic carrier I would be super excited. Especially if it's Southwest Airlines!
I wish they had Jet Blue.
So basically you're paying an annual fee for a card that earns 1x airline miles.
Bit harsh considering only two of the airlines have that rate. I don't think the card is worth keeping long term, but what you're saying isn't really accurate.
2:1 is just useless.
2:1 is a garbage rate.
Garbage rate is better than no rate. Might be useful for topping up points to get to an award flight but thats about it.
Are any of these programs partners with domestic airlines?
Any idea how fast points transfer into any of these programs?
Just transferred some to Avianca LifeMiles and it was instant. They also let you transfer in increments of 100 points.
How would anyone know that at this point?
Say what you want about TPG, but one of their writers just sacrificed 14k of their Capital One miles to figure this out. Half look instant. Not going to link here (not sure if that's allowed) but it's on their site.
