Capital One Shopping: 10% Back On Giftcards.com (YMMV)

Update 12/16/24: Back under shopping event.

The Offer

Direct Link to offer

  • Capital One Shopping has a cyber event going on which at the above link and is offering 10% back on Giftcards.com (along with other deals).

The regular link shows .5% back, but at the cyber deal link it’s showing 10% back.

Our Verdict

I think this would stack with the other deals Giftcards.com are running. But I’m not entirely sure on the fine print of this 10% Capital One rewards offer – maybe it’s only on certain brands or whatnot?

  • HOLIDAY5 promo code not working with this CapitalOne Shopping offer, tracked but ineligible.

  • Can’t believe this actually worked but you can earn cash back on both the purchase and redemption of Giftcards.com gift cards. Every portal I’ve tried so far has tracked. Final discount: 40% off by stacking cashback/promo codes 7X

  • Has anybody had an order track at 10% using the GIVEGC10 coupon code for 10% off GiftCards.com gift cards?

    • UPDATE: I saw Capital One Shopping had the code listed yesterday so I tried it. Bought 3 $100 GiftCards.com gift cards for $270, tracked today for $27 in rewards.

      • It would end up being 10% either way. The coupon code would be preferable since it's a guaranteed discount up front versus a likely gift card at some point in the future.

    • I'm not 100% certain, but from what I have read so far everyone advice against using any coupon code for cashback to track.

  • 2 of my transactions $1000 each shows tracked. Did 1 during cyber event and 1 yesterday.
How to know if there is a limit? Both show pending, $100 each. But not sure if I can/should do more. Anyone knows if pending means we will definitely get it? or have they voided pending ones in the past? No details is killing me lol

    • They have absolutely voided pending ones in the past, and even clawed back already-deposited rewards.

      • Was it for something big mistake that they voided/clawed back? Do you think this 10% has potential to be a mistake and be voided? Or this is reasonable enough and this much has been paid in the past?

        • In the past they mistakenly multiplied total cash back by the number of gift cards you purchased, so they understandably clawed that back to some extent. I don't think this 10% offer is a mistake that will be clawed back. BeFrugal is showing 4-6% so it's not that much of an outlier.

  • @6 I've seen a few $250 offers using a trick that one of you posted recently. But, they don't have any offer details aside from the title of the offer, which isn't always fully visible. 🤷‍♂️ Are you guys just hoping that they pay out?

    • They usually have the same "public" offer with a lower payout but showing the T&S of that offer. But yeah Cap1S is iffy, I basically take a leap of faith every time I go for the big ones. Not that other portals are much different.

      • I didn't see the terms anywhere. I even tried looking at the source code. LOL. But, the actual email that everyone's mentioned was overlooked by me. I got the points for the public offer a day after purchase.

Would I be pressing my luck to try the offer again? It's still listed and there's no limit mentioned. There's also a diff offer on the Offers site. Are you doing both?

        • @guest_1971118 I meant that e.g. this offer has no terms, but if you search for giftcards.com in the search bar and check their usual 0.5% back offer it has the detailed terms and approved codes.

Multiple times work for giftcards but no idea if their other offers would allow it. And I would be careful, they are known to suspend accounts and not pay out the balance if you start getting into real money, like 1-2k in rewards too fast. The reddit threads about account suspensions are somewhat alarming. So it's a bit of a gamble.

  • FWIW i added the browser add-on and keep getting targeted 30%+ back for sites I have visited. $250 for new line Verizon, 30% Disney, 30% shutterfly, 30% art of shaving, etc. In fact, the latter two were generated on purpose by going to website and waiting a day because I planned to make purchases on these sites... the verizon one tracked somehow with $1200 pending for 4 new lines, hopefully it sticks.

    • Did you click on the offer and did they ever show you the actual offer details? These offers that have a dollar amount plus an extra amount don't seem to display offer details. I'd hate to pay for a svc just to be told by C1 that I didn't meet the terms.
