CapitalOne SavorOne Increased Signup Bonus To $200

Update 9/6/23: At some point it changed back down to $200 for $500 spend.

Update 12/2/20: They’ve increased the signup bonus now to $250 with the same $500 spend requirement. It sometimes show as $150 or $200 – you’ll have to try incognito or try a few times or a few browsers, but should be able to find the $250 offer. (ht to reader William Y) Reader Joe supplied this link which shows the $250 in the fine print. Or you can keep trying the regular link until you get the regular $250 landing page.

Our Verdict

It’s not a bad no-fee card, especially if you want one for international transactions. Card has never had a signup bonus over $150 since launch (other than this $500 glitch), so now is a good time to signup if the card interests you.

  • I signed up for this card to get a $200 bonus for spending $500 on 8/21.
I went for the pre-approval process because I already have an existing credit card account with Capital One.
I called today 11/10 to check on my sign up bonus. I was told that I do not have any kind of sign up bonus.

  • I’ve had this card for 3 years and love it. No annual fee so no fuss. No foreign transaction fee makes it great for dining where my Amex Gold is not accepted overseas. Also use it as my secondary grocery card after Amex BCP. I’ve gotten the 3% back on entertainment at places like movie theatre, museums, gyms, etc.

I plan to close those 2 Amex cards since they have hefty annual fees and I don’t put Amex MR into great use.

The current public SUB is $200 back after $1000 in spend. [removed]

  • Hey Chuck. SavorOne signup bonus remains $200, but now requires $1000 spend instead of $500.

  • Does anyone know from other instances how quickly the points tend to post? The (very) fine print says "within two billing cycles."

  • p1 denied twice (first time back when it was 200), p2 denied, p3 approved (needed id verification)

  • Joe, thanks for the link https://applynow.capitalone.com/?productId=11227. You didn't say if you applied or not, but if you did, did they give you verification you would receive 250 if you did meet the requirement of spending the 500 in 90 days?

Has anyone else tried this link or any other link different from the CO's website and got verification of the 250.00 bonus? I have been unable to get the 250 to show up on CO's website and I talked to 2 different reps and they say unless it is processed through their website they can't say if the 250 will hold true or not.

I just want to know I would get the bonus before I went to a lot of trouble meeting the requirements only to be told some excuse as maybe b/c it wasn't on our website or the link had expired, etc. etc.

    Thanks guys!

    • I applied and was approved. The approval email that I got showed the $250 bonus info. I used the link above.

    • I decided to give it a few more tries going straight to Capital One's website using different browsers and PW. Suddenly it came up (in Firefox using PW) with the 250.00 on the front page. I forgot to copy the browser address and of course it wasn't possible to go back to it, I'm sorry. But it is doable. I was Instantly approved and card's on the way. Thanks Chuck for posting this and to everyone whose comments have been so helpful.

  • Approved !

    Credit score: 770
    only 1/24
Average credit history: 6 years and everything else from On Time payments to credit utilization to credit limit was excellent

I've only applied for 1 credit card in the past 18 months and I'm also in their system just a month ago when i opened their 360 Checking account for the $400 bonus.

Tried applying for my mom who also has decent credit and no credit cards and no bank accounts opened in the past 3 years and she got denied.

I prolly got in because I have a much higher credit limit and because i have their 360 checking account as well.
