Check in agents at the Centurion Lounge at DFW have been telling customers that facial recognition is being rolled out and that will soon be an option when accessing the lounge. Thankfully this will be optional and users will still be able to access the lounge by showing your Platinum card as is standard now. I guess the advantage to facial recognition is that you’ll still be able to access the lounge if you’ve forgotten to bring your card but personally I won’t be setting this up.

Guessing people bringing in their guests/family won't be able to use it?
Amex wants to save $. They might have 1 person doing the check-in, instead of 2.
Have a feeling the RAT will somehow use this to shut us down
That's a big nope. Why would anyone want their credit card company to have their biometric information?
Are or Why don't they use Clear
Nooooooooope. I'll pass on giving up that data for such a marginal benefit.
Bitcoin solves this
I've been able to access the Centurion lounge in SFO without my Platinum card before, by using the Amex app and going through LoungeBuddy.
My AMEX card is PERMANENTLY in my travel bag. Even with this new system, it would still be there. After all, that system could be DOWN on my next trip anyways.
