Chase Adds Automated Option For Combining Two Accounts/Logins (e.g. Personal + Business)

Chase has added an automated option to combine multiple Chase logins into one. This is a form filled out which you can find within the regular Secure Messaging system.

Go to: Secure Messages > New Message > Link another username to this one. And there you’ll get access to the form which can be used to combine two separate logins into one. It does take a couple of days for the login merger to complete.

This can work to combine two personal logins into one or to combine a business and personal login or to combine two business logins.. This works for credit cards and probably for bank accounts, e.g. to combine your business checking into the same login as personal checking. (I assume it only works if both logins are of the same personal; combining two spouses into one login, for example, probably won’t work.)

You want to initiate the process from within the login that you want to KEEP. Note: When combining personal and business, you need to KEEP the business login and add the personal into the business login. Not vice versa.

This is great news! Lots of people got confused with the process, especially, of how to combine their personal and business logins into one. Going forward, it should be an easy process.

  • New steps for linking accounts per Chase's website:
-After signing in, choose the "Profile & Settings" menu in the top right corner.
    -Choose "Profile & settings."
-Under Account settings, choose "Manage linked accounts."
-Choose "Show my accounts." Eligible relationships and associated accounts will appear. Choose "Link relationship."
-Choose "Link relationship" again to confirm.

    • I did this succsefully, but when I go to combine points, it still only shows my business cards. Does it just take time for the personal cards to show up in UR as well?

  • This option no longer shows up in the dropdown list. Checked on both biz and personal accounts + checked in the app and on a computer.

  • Does moving the personal profile into business profile also move "Chase Offers" ? I'd like to see the offers in one login instead of having to login to 2 separate accounts.

  • Is it completely automated? I want to do it but do not want to bring eyes to my account(s).

  • I got this rather ambiguous message when I tried to merge a personal account into a business account:

We can handle most inquiries by e-mail, but some issues
need troubleshooting and guidance that's best provided
    over the phone.

Please call us at 1-877-242-7372 if you need assistance or
    technical help with profile linking.

    Thank you

  • If my biz and personal accounts are separate is there anyway to move money between the 2 instantly? Current they are treated as external accounts so there is a two day transfer time.

  • I'm wondering if this is for cases where the owner of one account is a business entity while the other is owned by an individual. Because it seems to be required that you represent that you are the same owner and that you have the same social security or employers ID number

  • Seeking some help here. My spouse is stuck in Asia at this time and really can't return anytime soon. She has a business checking account that she can't access online. And Chase doesn't allow me to do anything as I am not on the account. She cannot make calls from overseas due to her current location. But she has spotty internet at times. That's how we are communicating. Anything I can do to help access her account? TIA

      • Yes, I'm in the States and spouse is overseas. She can't access her account from overseas and she is asking me to access on her behalf. Called up the bank and explained that my spouse is overseas and can't call Chase to activate her account. They said nothing can be done until she comes to the branch personally. Ridiculous!

  • Would this be a good first step towards closing my CSR without losing my UR? I currently have CIP which I plant to keep and CSR which I plan to close. My understanding was that the best thing to do would be to combine personal and biz points before closing CSR to keep points.

    • Rather than close, just product change the CSR to a Freedom or Freedom Unlimited. Keep the UR, keep the AAoC, and the available credit.

    • You can transfer points from one card to another as long as you’re in the same household anyway

      • You're allowed to do it, but I had trouble getting my biz cards linked to my CSR until I had my personal stuff added to my biz login. This is the easiest way to get things working properly.

    • Since I actually prefer the Chase interface for personal cards I thought I’d try adding my business cards to that login. Nope. They are quite explicit this can’t be done. I presume it’s only doable if you add personal cards to your business profile, not vice-versa.
