Direct Link to offer (Amazon affiliate link)
Amazon sent out an offer for Prime Rewards Visa from Chase cardmembers:

Standard earn is 5% back, this offer doubles that to 10%.
The Fine Print

- Valid for Prime members only
- 10% Back is earned only on purchases made at Whole Foods Market (including physical Whole Foods Market and Whole Foods Market 365 stores, and the website accessible at www.wholefoodsmarket.com)
- 10% Back is not earned on (i) purchases at Amazon.com, (ii) purchases from merchants using Amazon Pay, (iii) purchases made at international Amazon retail sites (including but not limited to Amazon.ca, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, or Amazon.co.jp), or any other website operated by Amazon, (iv) purchases made at international Whole Foods Market sites, (v) purchases of Whole Foods Market or Whole Foods Market 365 products or services through third-party sites such as Eventbrite, Instacart, Google Express and Shipt, (vi) online purchases of event tickets, classes or gift cards redeemable at Whole Foods Market or Whole Foods Market 365 (including through buyatab.com), (vii) purchases from certain third-party vendors operating at Whole Foods Market sites, (viii) purchases of massage chair services made at Whole Foods Market sites, or (ix) purchases from Spa@Ink, in each case in Amazon’s sole discretion.
Our Verdict
I have a Prime Rewards Visa, but didn’t get the email. The fine print sounds to me like it’s valid for everyone, I probably didn’t get the email since I never shop at Whole Foods and don’t have any in my immediate area.
In the past, gift cards have worked to trigger similar offers on this card, but of course there’s some element of risk. You should earn 5% on gift cards, regardless.
We’ll repost when this offer goes live.
Hat tip to reader Jeremy
you guys do know this isnt UR points right?
DP: $50 Whole Foods gift card purchase done 12/21, transaction posted 12/23 with the bonus points
Used Apple Pay for $100 VGCs, hoping for 11% to offset the $5.95 and a small profit.
I just got back from WF. I also bought $100 VGC’s. Not really sure if it were worth it for $4 per card (after fee) but that is 4%.
Got 11% using Chase Amazon CC from within Apple Pay, being a Prime member:
+ Extra 5% Back at Whole Foods 2,000.00
+ 1% Back per $1 for Apple Pay bonus 423.80
+ 5% Back on Whole Foods Market purchases 2,119.00
Total points 4,542.80
Anyone know if Prime Now orders will cound as well?
I clicked the “Direct Link to offer” and scrolled to FAQ #4. The official answer said, “will not be eligible”.
I did not get an email but upon logon to Amazon the offer shows up for me on the Prime link so if you are a Prime subscriber, check there
They had this deal advertised at the Whole Foods checkout when I was there last night. Along with 6% for regular amazon visa. Pretty sure it’s not targeted.
Doesn’t the Cash App debit card have the option of 10% back at Whole Foods? And without having to do a hard pull or add to 5/24?
Is this card worth getting for other purposes?
it does and i used it yesterday! 10% back on up to $75 refreshed every 30 minutes
So VGC should still work like the last time
Most Wholefoods no long have the variable 500s, so less lucrative than it seems at first glance.
Even this credit card’s subject to the Chase 5/24 rule. I’m the DP, in case anyone’s wondering.
I got Whole Foods gift-cards at 20% discount instead, thanks to DoC’s post on Amex Holiday Promo.
I received the email and never shop there. Looking for DP if it works on gift cards anyways.
Mike it did last year, they stopped selling variable $500’s. Can’t remember if they sell $100 or $200 fixed nowadays.
Can confirm it works on third party, as I bought $200 Netflix GC for personal use on Tuesday; received notification of full 2,000 points credited on my statement once it posted. Going back once I figure out what else I want, haha. Thanks DoC!
