  • Chase is offering 75,000 points on the Chase British Airways card

Card Details

  • $95 annual fee not waived first year
  • Chase’s 5/24 rule does apply to this card.
  • Card earns at the following rates (first $30,000 in the first year will earn 5x points per $1 spent):
    • Earns 3 Avios per $ on British Airways purchases
    • Earns 1 Avios per $ on all other purchases
  • As a general rule, Chase does match offers.

Our Verdict

We’ve previously seen a 100,000 bonus with $5,000 in spend, given that these points are now worth less than they were then I’d recommend waiting for an even higher bonus. Because of that we won’t add this to our list of the best credit card bonuses.

  • BA has been emailing me various offers. Latest subject is Mr X, don't let 100,000 Avios go to waste

But it is essentially 75k for the $5k spend, with another 25k with $20k spend during 1st year (which seems to be the only change from the public offer). No 5X points language. My offer expires in August, and I'm passing. If you going for the 30k travel together level then perhaps it is worth asking Chase to match this offer.

  • Lost $3000 flying Iberia 2 days after Christmas. Filed complaints 5 times with Iberia and they refuse to pay according to EU law. Chase sapphire reserve refuses help as my flight cancelation due to Iberia isn’t covered as it wasn’t weather related, it was due to the airline.

  • I don’t see the 5x points earning on the first $30,000 in the offer.
