- Deposit a total of $2,500 in new money within 20 business days of account opening
- Maintain that balance for 60 days
- Complete 5 qualifying transactions within 60 days of account opening
The Fine Print
- Checking offer is not available to existing Chase business checking customers, local, state or federal Government entities or agencies, Not for Profit organizations, Political Action Committees, or those with campaign accounts, or whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance.
- To receive the business checking bonus:
- 1) Open a new Chase Total Business Checking®, Chase Performance Business Checking® (or Chase Performance Business Checking® with Interest) account or Chase Platinum Business CheckingSM account, which is subject to approval;
- 2) Deposit a total of $2,500 or more in new money into your new checking account within 20 business days of account opening; and
- 3) Maintain at least $2,500 balance for 60 days from the date of deposit. The new money cannot be funds held by your business at Chase or its affiliates.
- 4) Complete 5 qualifying transactions within 60 days—debit card purchases, Chase QuickDepositSM, ACH (Credits), wires (Credits and Debits).
- After you have completed all the above checking requirements, we’ll deposit the bonus in your new account within 10 business days.
- You can receive only one new business checking account opening related bonus every two years from the last enrollment date and only one bonus per account.
- Employees of JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. and our affiliates are not eligible.
- Chase reserves the right to withdraw this offer at any time without notice.
- Bonuses are considered interest and may be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT (or Form 1042-S, if applicable).
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
Chase Total Business Checking has no monthly fee when you maintain a daily minimum balance of $1,500 or more. Otherwise a $15 Monthly Service Fee will apply ($12 Monthly Service Fee when enrolled in Paperless Statements). This is the easiest account to keep fee free.
Other ways to waive the fee: if you maintain a linked Chase Private Client Checking or Chase Premier Platinum Checking personal account or if you are military/veteran. Reports indicate that Chase usually waives the fee for the first couple months.
Early Account Termination Fee
Accounts need to be kept open for a minimum of six months; otherwise, the bonus will be forfeited.
Our Verdict
Now the real question is if they actually enforce being a Chase Private Client, my guess is that they will but we won’t know for sure until somebody actually tries. You can currently get a bonus of $2,000 by becoming a private client. The standard business checking bonus from Chase is $500 and that is currently available. I will add this to the list of the best business checking bonuses, but only as footnote to that $500 bonus.

This was awesome. Got the $1,000 bonus. I am not CPC.
4/16 - Went in branch last day of the deal to apply. Was a little nervous due to COVID, but $1000 got me off my butt. Opening was super simple with an appointment, and the teller was behind glass.
4/23 - funded with $2500 ACH
4/23 - 5/7 - completed a couple small ACH's and Amazon reloads with debit card
6/23 - $1,000 posted!
4/16 Opened and applied in branch with promo code with a $2600 deposit
Did multiple debit card transactions with and without pin
I attempted to add the bank account to paypayl on multiple occasions only to be met with errors, card was able to be added, although I never used it through paypal.
5/16 I could have sworn on this date I did a Costco run that put me at $2483.22 but cannot recall 100% and so immediately did a transfer from my regular Chase account to my Business account. Other than this one time, I kept my balance over $2500 but usually at $2600. 5/16 was also the last date when a transaction posted on the account, haven't used it since.
6/23 Bonus posted
04/10/2020 Opened and Applied in branch with promo code and $1000 cash. I am not a CPC
04/17/2020 ACH of $1525 added to the account
04/17/2020 5X Transactions made of $0.02 (Added the card to Paypal and sent $0.01 to family member)
06/16/2020 $1000 bonus posted!
Thanks go out to @guest_950883
@guest_999315 glad it worked. got mine today too... :)
Did anyone else not get this bonus as expected? It has now been about 20 days for me since the 60 day timeframe ended and I have not received anything. I am not a private client but did fulfill the requirements. Only thing I can think of is I changed my code via SM from a $500 code to a $1000 code about 20 days after creating the account, so maybe that is pushing the bonus payout back by 20 days? Or, a couple of my five debit card transactions were of an identical amount, so maybe that has confused the system?
Update: bonus just posted today. For those who changed their code from $500 to $1000 relatively late after opening the account, note that this is a likely reason why your bonus might be delayed past when the terms say you should get it.
3/20: Opened account in branch with CPC biz code
3/24: $2,600 ALLY ACH posted
4/13: >5 Comcast payments (all under 0.25)
5/26: $1k bonus pending
3/19 - Opened in branch and deposit $2600
4/2 - 5x amazon debit reloads
5/26 - $1000 bonus pending
Anyone know what number you'd be able to call to check the status of this bonus?
Number one rule: Don't call.
Thanks, why's that? So should I just kind of wait to see if I got the bonus or not? I signed up on 4/16 and should have reached my goals now according to my account page, how long should I wait for the bonus to post?
You're welcome. Did you use the code with an actual Private Client account? If not, you're drawing attention to your account. If you signed up on 4/16, you should wait until around 6/16. Going by other posts here, it took other people 2 months to get their bonus.
Ah, good point, no I did not. I'll wait, thanks once again!
Rule: if you didn't get bonus officially and didn't officially follow the rules (for example didn't have real direct deposit, but rather just ACH) - you never call to bring attention to your account, because either you will get the bonus or not, they will not help you in 99% if your bonus is not official/legit, and if they see that your bonus is not legit, they will remove the bonus before it posts. where if you waited - you had a chance to get the bonus...
p1. opened at the branch. March 2
March 7 – deposit from different bank $4000
March 8 – March 16 – all kind of small amazon reloads, and incoming and outgoing transfers.
may 6 – $1000 “$1000 for New Checking” Category: Misc. credit
not Chase Private Client. not targeted. got coupon from DOC link, only showed coupon code to the banker.
Is it confirmed that just using the debit card at least 5 times is enough?
not confirmed because i did 6 amazon reloads, and 7 incoming ACH
A data point, I only used the debit card with and without PIN and got my bonus yesterday, only did a transfer 3 times between my personal chase and this business chase account.
Does anyone know what it'll show up online as when you do a transaction using the debit card PIN? I want to make sure I'm completing the 5 debit transactions correctly as I don't know how to do the ACH transactions
add chase bank as external bank - and do transfers. From your other bank to Chase. Google it. it's easy. usually they count online debit card transactions as well... but for $1000 i would do two different ways to make sure - you will get it...
Unfortunately Chase is my only bank at the moment, I closed my BOA account not too long ago.
got paypal? do paypal transfers...
Thanks! So transfer to my wallet and then back to the account?
yes
Strangely enough it doesn't appear I can add my business checking account to my paypal account, tried with my chase login as well as my check information.
i recently added Chase Bus accounts for player 2
probably you got error/malfunction
i always add checking information with trial deposits...
Thanks for confirming I'll try again later tonight. Just to confirm you're adding the bank and not the debit card, right?
for ACH always
2/25 - opened online (read my comments about that here https://www.doctorofcredit.com/chase-business-total-checking-1000-bonus-chase-private-clients-only/#comment-929188)
3/9 - $2,500 deposit
3/10 - 5x ACH credits
5/5 - $1,000 bonus posted (at day 57 of 60 for the deposit requirement)
I believe the 1K bonus ONLY works if a rep changes the code. My banker entered the code on the email and i only got $200. Probably because I wasn’t Private Client.
I sent a SM to have the code applied after I opened the account online. I was not Private Client either.
