  • If the checking account is closed by the client or Chase within six months after opening, we will deduct the bonus amount for that account at closing.
  • All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

Chase Business Complete Checking $15 Monthly Fee

Chase Business Complete Checking has no monthly fee when you maintain a daily minimum balance of $2,000 or more. Otherwise a $15 Monthly Service Fee will apply ($12 Monthly Service Fee when enrolled in Paperless Statements). This is the easiest account to keep fee free.

Other ways to waive the fee: if you maintain a linked Chase Private Client Checking or Chase Premier Platinum Checking personal account or if you are military/veteran. Reports indicate that Chase usually waives the fee for the first couple months.

Early Account Termination Fee

Accounts need to be kept open for a minimum of six months; otherwise, the bonus will be forfeited.

Our Verdict

Chase has offered bonuses of up to $500 on business checking accounts in the past. You can get one business checking bonus every two years now (used to be once per calendar). Keep in mind you also need to have keep your account open for six months. Because the $500 bonus is coming around frequently I won’t add this one to the list of the best business checking bonuses. Hurrying is less of an issue now with the two year language. But remember to decide for yourself if it makes sense to wait or not.

If you go in branch to open this account, it’s also worth asking if you have any pre-approved credit card offers, as these by pass the Chase 5/24 rule (more on these offers here).

  • Anyone know if there's still ETF for this account or no? I don't see any on the website so I was wondering if the one in this post is outdated TIA!

  • My wife and I have each been getting mailers for $750 for $20,000 and $300 for $2000 for quite a while. They just upped the $2000 offer to $400. Keep it on deposit for 60 days, do five qualifying activities (debit card spend is the easiest). I suspect I’ll have to go in branch based on past experience.

  • I received an email offer for $750 with $30000 deposit. I can't open a business account being in a visa. Can a P2 open the account with the promo code received for P1?

  • "There is a $15 Monthly Service Fee (MSF) that we’ll waive if you meet any of the below ... using one or more of the following: Chase QuickAccept®, InstaMed Patient Payments and InstaMed Patient Portal and/or other eligible Chase Payment SolutionsSM products. Eligible Chase Payment Solutions products have a transaction history that is viewable on Chase Business Online, Chase Connect®, or J.P. Morgan Access®"

So can I do a $1 same-day ACH (1% of cost) every month to waive this?

    • I don’t believe so.

What I ended up doing was pulling out cash from an ATM with a different bank and depositing it at a Chase ATM.

If it’s coded with your name via transfer I saw that there could be issues.

My bonus status updated though when I deposited the 2k

  • Got targeted for $750 bonus with $30k deposit. Not sure if I want to tie up that much for 90 days (I know the $30k can be deposited closer to day 30).

    • Actually, seems like it only needs to be tied up for about 35 days: deposit $30k within 30 days (could do around day 25); then keep for 60 days total (move out after day 61): total of about 35 days.
