Original Post:
Chase is announcing Contactless Payments coming to Chase Visa cards. Contactless payments allows you to pay by tapping your card on eligible payment terminals instead of swiping or inserting the card. Saves a bit of time, and a lot of people find it useful when traveling abroad, especially.
We recently wrote about Chase Slate going contactless, and it now seems it’ll be rolling out to other Chase cards as well. Reddit members are hearing from Chase reps that there’ll be a mailer being sent out about this, with new cards being issued possibly after November 15th.
In the FAQ, it states: We’ll begin issuing contactless cards in 2018 on an ongoing basis. If you’d like to order a contactless card prior to your card’s expiration date, please call the number on the back of your card.

I just got a Chase Ink Business Cash a few days ago, and it is not contactless yet.
Honestly it's more of a concern on debit cards than credit cards (as charges have to post before they can be disputed and redunded) - that said I rarely take debit cards our of the house other than cash deposit.
I got my Slate contactless in the mail last week. I was really surprised that there was no activation sticker on the card. It appears like it will work right out of the envelope, no need to call or go online to verify identity before the card can be used.
it seems we can't even get Phone Pay adoption let alone tap to pay.
The World of Hyatt card also including the old one? I got the old one.
now we just need to get rid of chip+sig and go to chip+pin...
The sooner the better!
I heard these cards with contactless options are more vulnerable to be stolen and swiped when unaware of.
Anyone with a terminal needs to swipe your pocket with an accidental bump and your card was used that easy.
Not true. The contact range is very short and terminal refuses to work if it detects multiple cards. So if you have multiple contactless card, it wouldn’t work unless you pull out one card from your wallet.
Only takes a little bit of Google searching on YouTube or the internet and you'll see how many videos people made with the RFID credit cards to be vulnerable for hacks.
Called for a replacement CSR today! Should have it in a week- saw no reason to request an expedite. (Rep said it’s not contactless yet but I said I need replacement anyway as mine is showing damage. Glad their reps are so informed.)
Is this going to lead to limits on transaction amounts? I tried to use Google Pay to make a payment in London but the staff said it couldn't be used for bills over a certain value.
British contactless cards are limited to something like 30 pounds but Apple Pay has worked up to several hundred pounds for me with my CSR. Some old POS terminals have a transaction limit for all contactless but I only ran into that once in my two months there.
Payment terminals that accept contactless must also accept Apple Pay and Google Pay, am I correct?
Not sure if they have to, but they usually do.
