Chase Freedom Flex: Possible To Get More Than One Card via Product Change

The Chase Freedom Flex card states clearly in the FAQ that you can only get ONE of them, and we confirmed with the Chase media team that this is indeed supposed to be the case. However, reader Eric reports having no issue converting two separate Chase Freedom cards to Freedom Flex on two separate phone calls.

Honestly, this doesn’t matter all that much for the scenario of changing two Freedom to Freedom Flex since having one Flex gets you the dining/drugstore categories, and you can just as well leave the remainder as the old Freedom card (unless you want to increase your drugstore credit limit).

However, this would matter more for someone who wants to increase the number of Freedom 5% category cards they have overall: given that they are allowing more than one Flex card, hopefully it’ll continue to be possible to product change into Freedom Flex cards, even if the old Freedom card become unavailable for product change. (As of today, the old Freedom card is still available for product change, according to a reader’s report.)

Then again, this all might be first-day confusion, and in the future it might not be possible to get more than one Flex. We’ll see how this evolves.
