Our Verdict

Standard bonus is $200. We recently saw a bonus of $200 + 5% back on grocery stores earlier this year, there was also a similar offer but for gas stations. I don’t think this is worth burning a 5/24 spot for.

  • I spent required $500 about a week or so ago at this point. Anyone have any idea how long it should take to get the bonus?

    • I signed up for the $200 (20K UR points) offer several months ago. I just checked my records and I received the 20K points when my next statement closed after spending $500+.

    • I think the Flex is the one with previous offers for gas/grocery. Unlimited ran a double points for first year some time ago.

  • If I have an existing Freedom Unlimited card, I assume I can't take advantage of this signup bonus?

Instead should I product change the existing card to Freedom Flex, and then sign up?

    • As long as you last received a bonus on a CFU 24+ months ago, you can PC to a CFF and then apply for this offer. I would wait at least a week after the PC to apply to be safe.

  • Pretty nice card. I am working the unlimited double your first year bonus right now. I had to put a roof on my house and really jacked up my spending. I'm so glad I got in on this promo. Now I hope they pay me because they limited the payout a few weeks after I started my card to 20k in spending.

    • What do you mean they limited the payout? You don't get the double points until after the year is up. Side note, you also get double on the travel portal 5x now, 5x end of the year.

  • For us, groceries, restaurants, and gas are covered by other cards offering a much better return.

What we like about this card is the 1.5% on everyday miscellaneous spending. Even with the annual bonus, the CSP only provides 1.1%. Citi and Cap 1 offer 2%, but we prefer the transfer partners available with Chase and we have had negative experiences with Cap 1 customer service.

This card can be a strong addition to your points strategy when combined with the CSP and the Flex. No annual fees with the Flex and the Unlimited and a $95 annual fee with the CSP. For $95 a year, this trifecta provides great value.

  • I have two of these cards which Chase converted from Chase Freedom cards.
I don't have any use of them and was wondering if I can product change them to something else?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    • There is really no advantage to having 2 of these. If I was you, I would convert at least 1 of them to a CFF.

  • Both my wife and I received mailers for the no AF Disney cards, spend $500 get $300. Hard to beat 60% back, no? We were thinking of both opening and just stashing them after meeting the spend.

  • Might do this for P2 since P2 can't seem to get approved for a CSP as their first Chase card. Denied twice now - at 1/24, and few months later at 2/24.

    • the 0% APR hooked me too, however, after meeting the requirements, I rarely have a use for this card.
