Chase & Instacart To Launch Cobranded Credit Card (DoorDash Looking For Partner)

Update: Chase Instacart card has now been confirmed.

According to a source familiar with the matter Chase & Instacart will launch a co-branded credit card, but not until some next year. The card is expected to earn 5% cash back on Instacart purchases, aside from that it is not known what other benefits or sign up bonus will be offered. It will also be interesting to see if Instacart benefits are offered on other Chase cards as part of this partnership.

DoorDash is also currently looking for a co-branded credit card partner and has met with 10 card issuers, including Chase but has yet to choose a partner.

  • Pass on the 5%. I'd much rather they do something like free Instacart Express membership if you hold the card (no fee).

  • I really hope Chase doesn't replace any existing CSR benefits with Instacart.
(Except the Peloton credits maybe. Those can die a horrible and permanent death.)

  • If instacart has a bunch of subprime customers this will generate more profits which hopefully means easier/more lucrative subs for us?
At the same time, I don't see less well-to-do people using this service. It seems like the more upper-middle-class because it's a "luxury" product. At the same time, I guess enough less well-to-do people might use the service.

Maybe I just don't know the demographics of instacart shoppers

    • Right now the vast majority of Instacart's demographic are ones that don't want to get the rona.

  • I would like to launch a 5% card. Will give 5% back on purchases made by me.

    • Agreed. Sometimes I honestly forget that Chase even issues that pile of crap. If it was no af and one free drink a month I'd get it for sure.

  • 5% back, when they already upcharge every item like 30%, plus you have to include a large tip and service fees. Yeah, this is a trash card.

I'm sure Doordash won't be any better.

    • Depends on what store you are shopping at. Upcharges on non-participating stores (e.g. stores that have signs up saying no Instacart). Places like Walmart are the same price in-store as on Instacart. Problem I have with Instacart is you can't really do returns if you buy through Instacart.

    • Your comment says way more about you than it does about Doc. Btw... the answer to your question is "or what"!! John 3:16

    • Because this is a blog about credit cards and these are new credit cards?

    • On mobile, you can’t tell who’s replying to whom. It all gets nestled under the first comment.

So are most people for or against the original comment? I too want to fit in and say, depending on the answer, I am so enraged that someone so stupid would say such an asinine comment! OR it’s a free country, it’s their right to take their time and use their technology that they bought to type their mind for everyone else to have to read!

    • He didn't post my acorns bank account signup bonus :(

Guys, check your emails for the offer from acorns

    • I think you're confusing DoC with TheShillGuy or ISellMySoulOneBrexAccountAAT. This is a blog about CC rewards and it's a story about one of the largest issuers potentially adding a new cobranded card, albeit a not very good cobrand. What you'd rather watch a 8 minute 2 second video packed full of mid roll ads on YT with a guy in the thumbnail looking like he's taking a broomstick up his backside???
