Our Verdict
Same offer on the personal card. The business card will be of more interest to most people as it’s not subjected to the 5/24 rule. The public bonus was previously 80,000 points with the annual fee not waived, this is a much better bonus (5,000 less points but you save $99). In 2016 we saw a bonus for 100,000 points with the AF also not waived, that values Marriott points at 0.396¢ each. Personally I think this offer is slightly better than that offer, but that really depends on how you value Marriott points. There is also no guarantee that the 100,000 point offer will come back.
Keep in mind that Chase will likely discontinue this card in the future, so I do think signing up now makes sense for a lot of people. Before applying for this card I’d recommend reading these things everybody should know about Chase credit cards first. I’ll also add this to the list of the best business credit card bonuses.

Annual fee is not waived ANYMORE, Please Update.
This post is like 8 months old...
In fact, the offer link no longer works now.
This card (and this page) is linked from the "Best Current Credit Card Sign Up Bonuses & Offers For August, 2018" page, so you may want to remove it there.
Was going to have family apply for this one before Aug 1 but seems dead now.
It is not completely dead. The offer is still there, just the AF is not waived the first year.
this offer seems to be dead now
looks like the fee is being charged. I get a dead window with a link to a different one when clicking the "direct link to offer" posted here. This is the same for the biz and personal cards. Maybe they just revoked waiving the first year fee.
I see the same with the first annual fee not waived. Waited too long...
How long did it take for others to have the bonus post? Still waiting on my end several week after finishing the spend.
Chase bonuses post on the first billing cycle after the spend is complete. Some times when it is complete within a few days of statement closing it will post on the next statement.
If in doubt sm csr with the question - they will promptly respond and confirm.
Good luck.
Thanks VL, looks like I should be patient, probably just a delay because of the timing.
I usually SM them as soon as I completed the spending just to confirm that we are all good. In case of any issues it is better to start resolving them sooner. I do mention that I am not expecting the bonus right away, just checking that I completed what is required.
Good luck.
Is Chase cracking down on applications for Marriott Business card? Got denied. Spoke to customer rep. who was unwilling to move credit from another business card. I thought Marriott Business is not part of 5/24 but I may be wrong. It can't be credit score as my credit score showed 838 at time of application. However, I have applied and been approved for 6 credit cards in past 12 months. This is the first customer service rejection that I have had. Disappointed and may consider terminating my business relationship with Chase and eventually my personal banking relationship as well.
Marriott Biz is not a part of 5/24. There are other reasons you can be denied. 6 cards last 12 months could be one of them - just too many newly established credit, with no relation to a hard rule.
Regarding closing accounts... Do not want to offend you in any way, but it always strange to hear when people take rejections that personally. Chase is not your friend, or a SO... it is a business. Your hobby to collect bonuses (on their dime BTW) should be also considered as a business on your part. Your business proposition to give you a bonus of 75K Marriott points in exchange for (just) a $3,000 spend was not accepted (Probably you were not planning to spend much more). Should that be the reason to end other relationships with Chase? In my opinion - absolutely No. If keeping other accounts just does not make sense financially to you, or you are planning a strategical move to get another bonus some time soon on a given account ... then absolutely Yes.
Feelings aside. Think business. And I hope you will be just fine.
All the best!
P.S. Try another representative in a few days. Good luck.
Has anybody received the 15 nights elite credit by signing up for this card recently? The wording doesn't include it any more, just stating that you will get Silver Elite Status. Thanks.
I would love to know this as well. Those 15 nights are what stands between me and platinum 75.
Decided to be the DP I wanted to see and applied for this card on 6/8/18, after the 15 bonus nights language was removed from the offer page. Was not instantly approved but after two days the card showed up in my online account. On Saturday 6/15 I received the 15 bonus nights in my Marriott account.
I applied for this card and got the 30 day notice so I called in and talked to a rep. After answering questions about my business and my credit report, I was told they couldn’t approve the application. The rep said it was because I got two personal cards in February so not enough time has passed. I currently have 5 Chase personal cards and 1 Chase biz card (all within the past year). I also have other recent cards also. Is it worth calling in and trying to get this approved or will that draw more attention to my account and possibly lead to a shut down? I would use this card for my business (selling items on eBay and Amazon), but I was mainly getting it for the elite nights to get toward platinum before the program changes.
It might also be worth mentioning that I have not received any kind of alert that my credit was pulled (yet) even though he rep said she used my EQ report.
Just got the alert that EQ was pulled.
I applied for this card and got the 30 day message so I called in. After answering some questions and the rep reviewing my information, I was denied because I opened two person cards in Feb and they said it was too soon. I also suspect there was concerns about the amount of credit chase has issued me, but the rep didn’t say that. I have 5 personal cards and 1 business card from chase (all in the last year). Is it worth trying again with another rep or would that be bringing more visibility and running the risk of getting a financial review or possible shut down? I will use this for my business (selling items on eBay and Amazon), but I mainly want this for the 15 elite nights in hopes of reaching platinum before the programs combine.
This is a repeat of the comment above. Can you delete this @will?
What did those of you applying as sole proprietor's put the tax id number? I applied once for this card before, and I actually do run a side business from my home and have gotten biz cards from other lenders with no problem. But in this case I was rejected for not having a valid tax id, which makes no sense as a sole proprietor. I even called to contest but eventually gave up.
You put your SSN in both places - as EIN and SSN of the owner/officer. I was successful in applying for multiple business cards this way (at least 4 Chase biz cards including Marriott Biz)
Thanks VL. That's what I did the first time, and was not approved even with a call. Second time approved without a call. I think the mistake I made the first time was putting a description of the business (which is real) in the business name field. When I used only my legal name in that field the second time was approved. Seems a bit odd, but lesson learned.
Correct. I always put my full name in the business name if applying as a sole prop and in this case use my SSN as EIN. When apply under a corp EIN (which I have done too), then a real corp name goes in the name.
Good Luck.
