The Offer

Some people are seeing a nice offer among their Chase Offers/BofA offers:

  • Get 5% or 10% back at Office Depot/Max, up to $5.50 or $11.

A number of banks use the same back end for these offers. This includes: Chase, Bank of America, Regions Bank, Suntrust Bank, BBVA, BB&T, PNC, Columbia Bank, Beneficial Bank, and Christian Community CU. You can read this post for more information.

Our Verdict

Not a huge discount, but might be useful if a gift card deal comes along.

  • Is the way to get these offers to keep using the card? How much do I need to spend on the cards per month and for how long? But by the time I get the offers the rewards per $ spent if I had used another card would be higher than these 5-15%.

  • >>Chase, Bank of America, Regions Bank, Suntrust Bank, BBVA, BB&T, PNC, Columbia Bank, Beneficial Bank, and Christian Community CU.

Found it on US Bank (10%) --- but none of the above

  • Might be back on various cards again:

WF Active Cash (P1 and P2), for example
Earn 10% cash back on all of your Office Depot purchases, until an $11.00 cash back maximum is reached.
    Expires: 03/31/2025

  • All I've seen in my bofA for the past two years are these 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% deals that are the same as shopping portal. 1% homedepot, 2% bestbuy, 1% walmart, etc.

    • I had it on one card, and it later showed up for others

The local OD was already running out of gift cards

  • Silly question of the day: Why do Chase and BoA have the same offers? Aren't they bitter rivals and competitors?
    Jus' askin'.

    • They use the same company (cardlytics) to track your purchases and run the offers program. USB too I think.

    • The offer is pushed by the merchant through a channel of promotional offers. It's not chosen by BofA and Chase; it's chosen by Office Depot.
