  • I used the Chase offering today to buy desktop download of Deluxe with state, for a net of $43 plus sales tax. Full price is $80. Here's how:

I already had an Intuit login. I logged into Chase, and started from the Chase Offers page which lists many dozens of deals for a specific credit card; I chose a card that offered $20 back on this deal, and I activated that offer; that generated a link to click to get to Intuit from within that Chase deal, and that led me to an Intuit page, where I logged in to Intuit. From there, it was a bit of a struggle to find how to get the offerings for Desktop instead of online Turbotax, but once I found that I saw that Intuit's sale price of $70 was marked down to $63 (10% off thanks to Chase), and I completed the purchase within Intuit from there, specifying the Chase card for which I activated the offer. I expect to receive the $20 back from Chase, so that my net cost will be $43.

For comparison, Amazon and Costco are selling the same product today for $55.99, and I could get 5.25% back on that purchase for net cost of $53.05. So it's a $13 savings.

A downside to doing the purchase through Chase and Intuit, as I did, is the effort required to get that $13. It is easier to just buy directly from Amazon.

    • How did you go from the online TurboTax to the Desktop offerings? I can't seem to figure it out.

    • The $70 (before discount), does not include a state filing, so I assume we'll have to pay that when we file?

  • "here are some free filing options out there as well; this offer is useful for someone who needs a paid version".

Chances are if you browse this forum with any regularity, you need the paid version.

  • The Turbotax software is available for 39, but after the 10% discount Turbotax gives you it is 35.10. This does not seem to qualify for the 39 minimum purchase. Am I missing something?

    • Mines shows up as
$40 for the Deluxe Federal Only, $36 after the chase discount,
      $39.20 with taxes - $20 chase offer = $19.20

$70 for Deluxe with State, $63 after the chase discount,
      $68.59 with taxes - $20 chase offer = $48.59

or go with bigger (if you have) fidelity discount of 25% or 30% and use your chase cc for $20

or wait for the amz deal of $46 w/ $10 amz giftcard

  • Deal is back, but $20 back instead of $10.

  • is it possible to file federal(I have two smllc) with one card and then file state with another card?

  • Bought another state for $45 with Chase card, got $10 back, so valid for 2024 still

  • I bought a copy with the Fidelity offer ($5.42 with tax) and got a text saying that I had redeemed the BofA offer. Sadly, I subsequently got email and text saying that I did not qualify for the offer before I had not met the purchase requirement.
