Our Verdict

Free money for those who were targeted. This works out especially well on the Chase Freedom card which is currently earning 5x with the quarterly category.

  • How long after the transaction is posted, does the offer become redeemed? I added the offer a couple of hours AFTER I made the grocery purchase, so I don't know if it would qualify. Well, it's not a big deal to use the card for another $5 purchase.

    • For me personally, when I've had other Chase offers a statement credit has shown up on the billing statement in the mail and I don't see anything reflected before then. That might be the case with this one.

      • The credit itself is not there yet, but my offer has been moved to the "redeemed" section.

        • I never saw the credit anywhere on my account until I got my statement, and saw it there. Maybe it is the same for you.

          • Check on the offer screen itself. Mine showed that it had been earned, but wasn't yet reflected in my transactions.

  • Didn’t get grocery but got 15% back on southwest purchases over $49 on 2 southwest cards

  • Received this offer on my Chase Freedom card.

I bought some ice cream today at Rouses Markets, will post if it that triggers it. I dunno cause like Rouses is Supermarket

  • I'm currently in Italy for the summer. Would it work here at a grocery store? I don't see any rules stating it must be in the USA.

    • Italian supermarkets have always coded as grocery for my PenFed Platinum Rewards Visa, so I don't see why they wouldn't with Chase.

Let us all know if it worked for you.
