The Offer
Chase just rolled out an offer for Staples on their business credit cards and checking account debit card:
- Get $30 back when you spend $100 at Staples.
- Others are seeing: get 20% back, up to $34.
- There might be other iterations of this offer as well.
Separately, Chase also rolled out an offer on their personal card (this offer is the standard one that comes out every couple of months on personal cards):
- Get 10% back at Staples, up to $17.
- There might be other iterations which have different caps or different percentages.
The Fine Print
- Valid through 3/23/20.
Our Verdict
The business offer seems to be showing for many people (everyone?). The offer on personal cards might be more targeted.
Not clear in the terms if these offers work online or only in-store. For the regular personal offer we have one data point indicating it only works in-store, so I’m operating under that impression for both of these offers. Update: here’s a data point of it working online.
These are obviously terrific deals since Staples stores sell gift cards. You can easily buy an Amazon or Visa gift card and save 10-30% with these offers. Plus, if the offer is on your INK Plus/Cash card, you’ll get 5x on the purchase as well. Also stacks beautifully the coming week (2/23-2/29) which Staples is offering no-fee Visa gift cards in store.Â
