OK, I went into the Away Luggage store. Bought one piece in the store and they had to order another one from the warehouse for delivery. I have two separate transactions. I get the email from Chase about the redemption, but get nothing. I called to escalate. I am going to get screwed because there are two transactions instead of one?
I know it's a bit last minute (offer expires 2/28), but I just confirmed that this offer works on in-store pGC purchases. Charge posted as "SQ *AWAY", received credit after 5 days
Also confirming that you can use PYB on the full pre-discounted amount of this pGC purchase, i.e. redeem 33,333 points for a $500.00 credit.
Essentially turned 33,333 UR into $200 cash + $500 Away pGC.
Excellent DP. Wish we knew sooner!
Sad, I checked my card and a friend's, neither of us seem to have the offer available -- maybe it had to be added by a certain date?
Anybody purchase in one of their retail stores and get the offer triggered? Made a purchase on 2/11 in store but haven't seen anything yet.
Took a few days but the credit posted today. So, confirming it does work with in store purchases.
If anyone is interested in this offer, I was able to use a referral code ($20) with a set discount ($45)! Now just waiting on my $200 statement credit to post to my CSR and I will count this as a win ($615.52 total bill for a carry on + large checked bag brought down to $350.52 after all discounts)!
Sounds like there are a max of 5 referrals per person --see my link below! **Note that it shows an error message if you apply the code directly to the cart, but once you get to the payment portion of checkout you should see the $20 referral credit (it also showed up as a banner when I clicked the referral link I used).
Happy travels!

I wouldn't bother with their plastic suitcases, they source from a factory in China that actually produces the exact same product for quite a few online Chinese brands. The only thing different is the design. The cheapest I've found is actually the Member's Mark hardside carry on at Sam's club which is $60 and as far as I can tell an exact dupe of Away. I have had mine side by side with a friend's away bag and they are most definitely the same bag, just a different outside shell appearance. They have the same wheels, handle, even the same included luggage tag. Look around on deal websites for random Chinese brands (not regular western brands) and you'll find one eventually for half or much less than Away.
Ray is full of shit
that’s why you get the aluminum one
Yes, but I assume you don't get the lifetime warranty if you buy from some random Chinese brand. Something to consider if you travel often or are hard on your luggage. There's a mark-up on Away because of the continued support of their products.
Ugg! Just bought bigger carry-on, medium suitcase and longitude tote around Black Friday. I would return and re-buy but got limited edition set.
Does anybody know if the $500 spend include tax? What I'm looking at buying is $490 before tax... obviously over $500 after tax
Try to avoid checking these bags in. I checked them in once because I had some liquids that couldn't get by TSA and the bag came out so dirty with marks all over the place XD.
I checked my Aluminum once, came back with a nice dent in it...
They clean off pretty well if you use a magic eraser.
gift cards?
Doesn't exclude in the terms, but it looks like Away uses a third party processor for GCs so probably wouldn't qualify is my guess.
Thanks, assuming gift card purchase in store is a way around that? Thoughts?
I looked into this briefly but couldn't find any gift card reselling sites that accept Away (Travel) gift cards.
