Chase to Support Android Pay in September, Use Radpad for Minimum Spends & Free Points

Update: The RadPad deal has ended early, let’s hope for some Chase promotions for this anyway!

Andriodpolice got hold of a leaked memo from Chase indicating that Chase will begin supporting Android Pay starting September 7.

Beginning September 7, Chase customers who use Android Pay will be able to enroll their eligible Chase Visa-branded consumer credit cards, consumer and business debit cards, and Chase Liquid cards to make in store or in-app payments using their Android device.

Since Radpad is currently allowing rental payments via Android Pay fee-free, we’ll soon be able to rack up free Chase spend. Whether to meet the minimum spend on the Sapphire Reserve or any other card, or to rack up free Ultimate Rewards points.

Note the wording indicates that only Chase Visa cards will be supported by Android Pay. Most Chase credit cards are Visa, including Sapphire Reserve, but not all. Also, Chase business credit cards will not be eligible, apparently.

Fantastic development.

  • Radpad game is over!
    https://blog.onradpad.com/an-update-on-our-no-credit-card-fee-android-pay-promotion/

"That is why we regret to inform everyone that beginning today, August 24th, 2016 we will no longer be able to offer the Android Pay promotion.

Anyone who signed up and qualified for the promotion prior to August 24th, 2016 will still enjoy free credit card fees as long as their rent is charged on or before August 31, 2016. However, we will not be able to offer the promotion through the end of the year. After August 31, 2016, the regular 2.99% fee will apply if you choose to continue using your credit card through Android Pay."

  • surprised no one mentioned it but the ideal pairing for this would be the Chase freedom unlimited. 1.5x pts per dollar and can be transferred to CSR for 50% bonus. Easy easy points. I have a mortgage so not much I can do except for the maintenance fees, but my friend has 2 roommates and pays 6k a month total so 6000x1.5x4 = 36000 UR points = $540 redemption on CSR!!!!!!!

    • Unless of course, it'll get marked as travel like it has been with Amex which would be absolute insanity to get 3x points on rent

  • Chase has, quite literally, been saying they'll support Android Pay for years now. I'm not holding my breath.

  • what's online MS method for about $10k in spend req? I won't do prepayment of mortgage bill since i just bought a home and don't have much left to pay off new big credit card bill.

Use paypal, google wallet venmo to send payment to wife so she deposits to her account and than to pay the credit card back? I don't mind the fee if that will work. I have no time for gift cards.

    Thanks

    • Jim the methods you mentioned will get you shutdown quick. If you can't do the Radpad, search Flyertalk, r/churning on Reddit, and the various forums for manufactured spending. The Office Depot/Max visa gift card deal is an easy way to get a good start at the $10k min. spend-if you have an easy way to liquidate in your area.

  • Just a note that Chase business cards also aren't supported in Apple Pay for some reason. Kinda annoying.

  • Whats this "Note the wording indicates that only Visa cards will be supported by Android Pay." ?
I added Business AMEX to my android pay successfully.

  • I really need an instruction about what kind of devices support Android Pay...Or what's the cheapest phone I could find on the market or ebay...

  • i am an iPhone user... can i get a cheap android tablet and sign in with my google account to do this?
or do i need an android phone? activated?
    thanks.
