  • Does anyone know how long does the transfer take? I am looking to book NYC to LHR in 2 weeks, does it take the standard instantaneous or 3-4 days?

  • You can link your BA account to your Qatar Airways account (now uses Avios miles) if you're looking for a Qatar Airways booking with miles.

  • I have no upcoming plans, but BA has always been good to me for booking cheap AA domestic flights.

  • You able to use avios that you transfer to BA on Qatar since they changed to avios too?

  • Also TPG saying that 100k Avios/$5k spend offer on BA, IB, EI cards are coming to an end on 6/30 @will

  • DO NOT DO IT... Unless you want to sell your kidneys and pay BA for STUPID SURCHARGES !!!

    • Silly rabbit, Avios is for Partner Redemptions!

Never redeem on BA. Redeem on someone like Alaska instead.

  • why Chase always 30% on BA while AmEx is usually 40%?

a nice thing about Avios is they usually let you pay part cash for 1.2 cents per Avios, a great price.

  • With all the BA horror stories as of late, I wouldn't touch a BA award booking with a 10 foot pole.

    • Can you explain what horror stories we should be aware of? I'm looking to book American airlines through ba avios for a domestic flight to ny next year.

      • Look at flyertalk. Threads on threads of cancelled flights, insane hold times and no availability to reschedule.

        • In other words, just like almost every other airline at the moment. (FWIW I'm not a fan of BA, they're pretty mediocre as legacy airlines go.)

        • I am hold right now with BA. I had to do a flight with them and now regretting it. I paid for standard economy, upgraded to plus with Avios, my ticket spans their Book With Confidence period (they are ending no cost changes), I have been on hold/calling for last two weeks and wasted over 15 hours trying to get a simple change made (simple for other airlines) but with the base fare paid PLUS Avios upgrade, they need Albert Einstien from the back office to determine the solution to E=MC2. Does that help with the HORROR that is BA??!

          • I suggest trying to get connected with their Twitter support team. They're usually more competent, although it takes close to 48hrs for responses.

          • +1. Twitter is the only way to communicate with them and it's only decent. But plenty of (if not most) companies are the same now. I had a little while getting a points redeposit but after about 3 weeks of back and forth it was done. Not awful. They are a 15% to 20% discount on AA awards and no fees on AA. Using Avios on Iberia and Aer Lingus also is really great reward rates with low fees. Most especially off-peak, which is most of the year.
