Our Verdict
Looks like the rumor was accurate. This isn’t the best offer, we saw a bonus of 65,000 miles last November and even a recent bonus of 75,000 miles on the business card. It is still bigger than the standard bonus of 40,000/50,000 miles though. Remember that the Chase 5/24 rule does apply to this card so most people will not be eligible for this card/bonus. With the new 48 month Sapphire rule using a 5/24 slot on this card might make more sense than it has previously. While not the best bonus we’ve seen on this card signing up could still make sense if you have an immediate need for United miles. If you don’t then my recommendation would be to just wait for a better offer to come along. I won’t be adding this to our best credit card bonus post as we’ve recently seen a better offer. As always if you have a question about Chase cards, read this post first as it’s probably answered there.

Do the United club passes expire after card is closed and you lose the unused passes or they are valid till expiry date mentioned on them, and can be used even if the associated United credit card is closed?
Still valid until the expiration date of the pass.

Worthless card. Why would anyone pay with this card and get 2 miles/$1 on united flights when you can get more miles from other cards. And if your company pays for the flights, you won't even get free baggage from having this card. Perks are pure garbage and have to pay $95 Annual fee on top of it.
Just don't use this card for everyday spend, even for United tickets unless you need a free baggage. Earn rates are not competitive, the real perks of this card are the baggage and extended award availability on United economy.
Also as a DP my referral to Player 2 is only showing 40k points after $2k spend (and 10k to me as referrer) so better to apply w/o referral if you can hit the additional spend.
I have had this card for around 5 years and am 4/24. If I cancel today and apply by the 16th what are the chances that I can get the signup bonus?
If i close the United mileage card (Personal or Business) and if i have unused United club passes received on that particular card with a valid expiry date at time of closing the credit card (and club pass has not expired yet), do these club passes automatically expire when credit card is closed? or Club passes are valid until the mentioned expiry date on the pass, and can be used anytime until that expiry date is reached (and still not used)?
If you apply for the Chase United Explorer card and are denied, Chase may give you incorrect info about which credit report company they used. 2 different people at Chase insisted they used Equifax (my state is WA) but when they told me the companies which had had hard inquiries in the last 2 years, it was clear they had used more than Equifax. I asked them several times whether Equifax was the only credit agency they had used, and both people said YES. In fact, Chase used all 3, because I can see the hard pulls on all. It was very difficult getting almost any information out of Chase ... I suggest people get as many bonuses as they can from Chase, but spend as little as possible. Dump the card as soon as you get the bonus, because Chase is a slimey company. I won't be flying United because of this.

With award charts now being eliminated, United MileagePlus points have just become the new SkyPesos.
So I know people shit on Delta alot... But they're the only ones besides SouthWest where I've consistently snagged 15,000 x3 RT tickets.
The REAL value of the United miles are the ability to get the 'slightly less crappy' 12,500 options that aren't available to the pleebs anymore.
Holding out for the biz to come back, even if it does at say 60k, it will keep me under 5/24 for something else that may increase.
