Our Verdict

Most recent offer was 50,000 miles after $3,000 in spend. This is an extra 15,000 miles but requires $7,000 more in spend, that’s only slightly more than 2x miles per $1 spent. We frequently see higher targeted offers, for example some people are currently targeted for 75,000 miles on the business cardAnother recent offer on the personal card is 50,000 + $100.  Keep in mind the Chase 5/24 rule applies to this card, so most readers will not be eligible. If you are eligible then you need to decide if it’s worth burning a 5/24 slot for this card or not. Given the new 48 month restrictions to Sapphire cards burning a spot seems like less of an issue.

I’m not loving the trend of slightly higher bonuses with much higher minimum spend requirements spread out over three or six months. As always if you have a question about Chase cards, read this post first as it’s probably answered there. I think a lot of people will prefer the straight 50,000/$3,000 offer but some may prefer this higher spend offer as it basically means you’re earning 3x+ united miles per $1 spent.
