Update 4/5/21: Existing cardholders can now PC to this card. Hat tip to Hippo387
Recently Chase has sent out a notice to Chase United Platinum Class Visa cardholders (no longer accepts new applicants) that they will be product changed into a new card called Chase United Quest Card on March 21, 2021. It looks like this new Quest card will also accept new applicants and know the following details:
- Annual fee of $250
- $125 credit on card anniversary, good for United purchases.
- Up to 10,000 miles back. Get 5,000 miles back for each award flight per year (up to two). Based on cardmember year, not calendar.
- Card earns at the following rates:
- 3x points per $1 spent on United purchases
- 2x points per $1 spent on all other travel purchases
- 2x points per $1 spent on select streaming and restaurant purchases
- 1x point per $1 spent on all other purchases
- Free first and second checked bag
- Priority boarding and premier upgrades on award tickets
The Platinum Class card had a $140 annual fee and a companion travel certificate, but no miles refund or $125 credit. It’ll be interesting to see what sort of sign up bonus is offered on this card.

I’m assuming if you PC you’re not eligible for any kind of bonus. Can anyone confirm?
correct
@will / @chucksithe Super minor quibble about the tags on post - this one uses "chase-united-quest-card" and the other post today uses "chase-united-quest".
There could be an hierarchy of tags for these posts like
- credit-cards
- chase-cc
- chase-cc-united
- chase-cc-united-quest
to help surface posts with tags.
I can offer my services to tag posts or standardize the tags that you have on your posts.
I am happy to look at your last 1000 posts or so to come up with suggestions, or we can crowd source these too..
Again, immensely thankful for what you guys do day in, day out. Just trying to offer back something.
Yeah this should have been chase united quest, have fixed for now. Probably don't have time to fix the last 1000 posts but if you see any that are really wrong like this one let me know and I'll fix it
If I opened the United explorer card last month is it possible / should I consider PCing to this?
Usually need to wait 12 months to PC.
Chase CSR confirmed to me when PCing that the Quest card also has primary rental insurance.
From United Quest's page:
"If you’re already a United Cardmember and would like to switch to this product, please call the Chase phone number on the back of your current card to see if you’re eligible."
Makes me wonder if they will open it up to direct signup with a bonus.
I got confirmation from United that this card will not be made available for new signups. Only PC.
Is it still launching today? Don't see it on united or chase website
Needs a business version so no risk of going over 5/24
I am not flying United because I don't want my ass on a 737 MAX.
Fly international. You won't be on a 737 max.
Then you are not flying American or Southwest either.
No wonder DL is so dang expensive...
it's such a popular plane, that will likely be unavoidable unless you just cancel your trip and drive
After all the upgrades it is the safest plane in the air. Told to me by a UA pilot.
Smart Man!
But you can put your head on the seat bro, see if that will solve your problem.
Technically your ass is still on dat plane, regardless of which body part is on the seat. Nice try, tho.
I have 8 figures in life insurance policies. There’s no way the bank will let a plane go down easily with me in it.
So its 2 50lb bags? If Im a silver member would it then be 2 70lb bags? If you travel heavy seems to be a winner if it has the same car rental insurance.
"Get 5,000 miles back for each award flight". Depending on the terms this could be a good deal. Find a flight for 5,000 miles one way and fly for free
good only if you have enough miles in your account, not a long run benefit. I would love 10k anniversary miles instead of the rebate.
You could transfer from chase to United if your account needs miles.
