Chick-fil-A has launched elite status tiers for their ‘One’ loyalty program. The tiers are as follows:
- Chick-fil-A One Member. This is basic status that everybody starts with
- Chick-fil-A One Silver Member. This requires earning 1,000 points in a year
- Chick-fil-A One Red Member. This requires earning 5,000 points in a year
Seems weird to use Silver as an elite level and then not use gold, especially in a three tiered system. Chick-fil-A does love red though.
The meal donation is a one time donation to Feeding Children Everywhere and is received when Silver status is reached. In terms of redeeming points, the break down is as follows:
- 500 points = chicken sandwich
- 1,500 points = salad
Chick-fil-A is always controversial due to the same-sex marriage controversy. I’d prefer to keep comments solely to this new rewards program, but I know that is unlikely to happen so instead please keep your comments respectful of each other.

Whelp...looks like they will be making a change next yr. I thought it was strange that I started getting msgs within the app suggesting that I use points so I decided to search this topic. This is what I found on the CFA One FAQ:
If I earn status as a Chick-fil-A One Silver or Red Member, can I lose it?
Member tier status is determined annually, and a Member must meet the requirements for a particular Member tier status each year or the status will not be maintained. Beginning in 2022, you will have until December 31st each year to reach or maintain status, and on January 1st your points towards tier status will reset to zero. Points toward status do not rollover. To view your status information, visit the "Rewards" portion of your app or online.
So if I have 4,500 points accumulated through July 31, 2019, do these points all expire on August 1, 2019? It says my current status will expire on August 1, 2018. Does this mean I lose all of my points?
I sent a message to see if they will status match Starbucks Gold
For once my ‘all-things-points’ hobby is in peril, since my wife (who is also an avid DOC reader) disapproves Chick-Fil-A or any fast food since I’m Cholesterol elite at the moment. Sadly I will have to pass this loyalty program with a heavy heart.
Thank you for the best laugh I have had in a while! :)
;)
To get Silver, you need to spend $100.
To get Red, you need to spend $463.64.
If you are spending that much, will a few freebies really mean anything to you?
Well $463 over a year means only $8.90 a week which really isn’t that bad especially if you have someone you go with.

There's controversy everywhere.
Some people just want to get upset over something, some people just want to eat a delicious chicken sandwich.
To keep in the spirit of someone having to bring something up about their politics I'll bring up mine.
My faith does not allow me to believe in same-sex marriage.
However, with my political beliefs, I vehemently oppose any such legislation that would ban or curtail same-sex marriage.
*mind blown*
Yes, not all Christians are the same. Some of us just want to keep the government out as much as possible and let everyone make their own choices.
Some of us are just hungry too. TIME TA EAT.
P.S.
Thanks for posting this Doc. I noticed the change to my app the other day. I am almost in Red. O____O
You’ve spent over $400 there this month alone? I wish I had that kind of CFA Money i’d Be getting those Milkshakes every time! ;)
Haha! No it’s not all for me I promise! We do a lot of group orders where I work so I just scan my code when I pick it up!
Look at the gift cards from exchanges. Lot of good percentage off. 10% with cfa. Other places are 10-15% with ease. If you are spending $400 that's an easy $40-50 plus affiliate program and cash back.
I usually buy their gift cards from whoever has the best deal on gift card wiki. (10% is common). Using a gift card on the app still earns points. Plus their empty the gift card into your account so you don't have to worry about the gift card getting zeroed out.
They discontinued their A-List card when this started as well. A-List membership was invite-only at the discretion of store managers but if you were smart enough to buy an invite card on eBay for $10-15 when they were available, it paid for itself within a couple months because they would email you free item offers all the time which got added to your account automatically.
A-List members automatically were also given Red status for a year with this new program.
Long time reader. There is no controversy. This company openly supports discrimination and bigotry in the guise of “faith.” Why would I or anyone eat where friends, family and neighbors are unwelcome?
The great thing about our country is that we are all free to spend our money where we choose.
Still, I've never seen them discriminate against any customers. Just because someone disagrees with you, it doesn't make it "bigotry" and "discrimination".
They’re one of two chain restaurants in the entire country with playgrounds for kids, so I go there a lot regardless of their politics lol.
