Citi adds Card Replacement Tracking and Recurring Charges View

Citi recently added a couple new features to their website and mobile app.

Card Replacement Tracking

Press Release

Starting today, we can track the steps of Citi credit card replacement delivery in real-time within the Citi Mobile App for iPhone or Android or through Citi Online.

Citi cardmembers will be able to track the status of their cards for replacement of expired cards, product changed cards, and lost/stolen cards.

I tried finding the feature in their iOS app and don’t see it there yet. In the desktop login, there are a couple of tabs in the Account Management section which relate to replacement cards and might show this info. I don’t have any cards in transit to say for sure.

Recurring Charges View

Another addition I noticed in the online login and in the app is the ability to view recurring charges on your cards. This is helpful when cancelling a card to know which merchants you’ve been using the card consistently.

The system doesn’t only tell you automatic recurring charges, rather, any charge they see repeatedly comes up in the list. In practice, it seems to show some repeated charges but not others; I don’t know exactly what criteria it uses.

To find this feature, go to Account Management > View Recurring Charges on desktop. Go to Services > Recurring Charges in the app.

In a related development, Citi also added Quick Lock a few months ago.

  • Thanks for pointing this out.
Until "recurring" excludes "more than 1 transaction per merchant per statement period", I can't find much benefit to this personally. In fact, since UBER now flagged as "recurring", I immediately feared fraud until I validated cc charges against UBER trip history.

    • Recurring charge concept by Citi is totally for the benefit of the merchant and does the opposite for the cardholder.

  • I LOVE Citi Virtual Account Numbers. Was generating one the other day and they had an option to generate an account number for my double cash reward balance! But the option is gone now. So just a FYI...it looks like it is coming.

    • Beware, Citi allowed recurring charges on a virtual card number to charge beyond the $ limit set for the virtual card number.
