Citi American Airlines 60,000 Miles Personal Offer (Get Matched To 75,000 Miles)

Update 02/14/18: Reposting as this link is still working and many data points of being successfully matched to 75,000 miles.

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Citi / AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite MasterCard is offering 60,000 miles after $3,000 in spend within the first three months.

Card Details

  • Annual fee of $95 is waived the first year
  • Contains one American Airlines bonus per 24 month language

Our Verdict

Most people will not be eligible due to the following language:

  • American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles are not available if you have had any Citi® / AAdvantage® card (other than a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® card) opened or closed in the past 24 months.

This rule is discussed in more depth here. Last time this bonus was offered people were successful in getting matched to 75,000 miles as well (people are being succesfully matched to this offer this time around as well). Before applying or asking basic questions in the comments make sure you read these things everybody should know about Citi cards here. American Airline miles have been seen as less valuable recently due to the fact that there hasn’t been much sAAver space recently, apparently American Airlines plan to make positive changes on this front but as we all know actions speak louder than words.

As matching to 75,000 does work I’ll be adding this offer to our best credit card bonus page. They also offer 60,000 miles on the business version of this card as well.

I wanted to get the American Airlines AAdvantage credit card but was scared to pull the trigger as I got the Simplicity card a few weeks ago. I talked to worker at Citi Bank and she said it was to early to apply as I just got one. I told her I have been checking the sites and they said you can get 1 card and then have to wait 8 days and she said she didn’t hear of that.
I just went a head and applied today and was approved for $16,300 and made my day.

I don’t see a 75k offer anymore on the executive card, it now appears to be 70k.

The platinum select card offer through the link above still works for 60k (50k after spending $3k, another 10k after spending a total of 6k).

Will they still match to 75k, or do I now have to request them to match 70k?

It looks the offer changed:
Earn up to 60,000 American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles with 50,000 bonus miles after $3,000 in purchases within the first 3 months and 10,000 bonus miles after a total of $6,000 in purchases within the first 12 months. Annual fee $99, waived for the first 12 months*

Do you think they will match 75k though?

I received the card yesterday, sent an SM asking for 15K additional points. Citi said they would credit my account the 15K. This is still alive!

Just matched from 65 to 75k on a personal card. It’s still alive and well!

Happy to find out that this is still working… Applied with the 60k link on August 10th, and sent a SM after I received the card, asking for the 75k match – received a response within an hour, indicating that they will add 15k AA miles to my account! Thanks again, Doc! You’re the best!

I’m getting another offer for 50K+ $200 bonus. Will I be matched to 75K points?
If not, how much additional points will I get with the offer of 50K+ $200 ?
