  • I'm guessing 'no' but can someone please set me straight: Does the 'Citi family of card' rule mean that the personal AA cards and business AA cards are in the same 'family'?
I got a bonus for a Citi personal AA card less than 48 months ago, whereas my last bonus for a Citi business AA card was in 2017.
I recently got approved for the 75K Citi AA business card offer. Am I ineligible? TIA.

  • Just applied and approved using EIN (previously had a business account using SSN in 2022, so technically I don't qualify for the bonus). How can i check the bonus is attached to the one I just opened (EIN account)? Is there a tracker online? Is citi one of those that if you are approved, you can expect to get the bonus, like Barclays?

  • Can someone please clarify if the miles will be added to my personal AA account (the only AA account I have) or Citi will create another one and deposit the bonus miles to that account.

    • If you apply as a company with a separate EIN, most likely Citi and AA will create a separate business AA loyalty account for you. You will access it from the same personal account (there will be a drop down menu from your Account top right button). The miles will be deposited there, and the only way to use them is to transfer them to "one of the employees". There are 2 positive trade offs for this extra cumbersom set up
      (a) if you have more than one legit biz with separate EIN, you may be able to receive this bonus for each of them (before it was only ones per AA loyalty account number, but now since each business will have its own.. you can get one for each.. we have a DP of this working)
      (b) you can transfer your business miles to anyone.. not just yourself. Just need to add them as an employee.
IMPORTANT - make sure to transfer out the miles BEFORE you close the card, or it will be much much harder to transfer them out..(and may be not even worth it)... so it is OK to keep the miles there while you deciding where to transfer them, but make sure you do so while the card is active

      Good luck

  • Can you open a second account and qualify for the bonus if you already have an existing account?

  • Has anyone tried closing their existing Citi AAdvantage Business card that was opened more than 4 years ago and then applied for this new offer the next day? Trying to see how long a previous card/account would need to be closed for before applying to get the 75K sign-up bonus miles for this card.

  • I applied having read that they did indeed provide a temporary virtual card although with a . I did not see an option for one and it says I must verify the card before I can add it to a digital wallet.

Just an FYI for anyone who was considering this to pay for your taxes, it likely won't show up in time.

  • I think it's fair to say Citi won't match this if you've applied recently without a mailer?

      • think the most baffling part was me calling the executive response unit and having the first person on the phone tell me that they don't do that?

they wouldn't even let me file a complaint/request to have them consider having it matched

  • If I have the personal of this and got it last year and it’s still open, can I get this bonus?

    • Yea business and personal are separate. My wife got the Citi biz, Citi personal, and Barclays personal all in the same month in October

      • What about the language of receiving 1 bonus per 48 months? I got the aviator red bonus about a year ago.

        • Aviator Red is a card issued by another bank (Barclays). Those are completely independent.

  • Any point in applying within 48 months if I use SSN this time around vs EIN for last year's app?

    • I'd like to know the same. I applied under a LLC EIN two years ago before they set up business AA profiles. I'm considering making another attempt using a SSN this time.
