Our Verdict

Normally you wouldn’t be eligible for this card if you’ve opened or close any other Citi Hilton cards (e.g this card or the Reserve card) within the last 24 months but this offer does not contain that restrictive language. If this rule doesn’t apply to you I’d recommend getting the Citi Hilton Reserve card instead as it comes with two free weekend nights and that’s a lot more valuable than 40,000 points (if you wanted points and no annual fee I’d just be patient as we regularly see 75,000 point offers on this card).

Be aware of are Citi’s application rules:

Also be aware that Citi will no longer issue Hilton cards from 2018 onwards. I’m hopeful that we will see more of these no 24 month language links leaked if American Express purchases the back book from Citi as they will likely want to inflate their cardholder numbers. As always if you are thinking of applying or have any questions, make sure you read through this list of things you should know about Citi credit cards first.

We also pointed out this offer to our newsletter subscribers in November of last year. Just reposting and making it public due to the Hilton news.

  • Positive DP:
I'm at 32/24 and got the Citi Hilton card 12 months back.
6/14: applied and got a 15-digit application number. Called couple of times and I was told that the application struck in some system and asked me to check back later.
6/21: received an email with a different 15-digit application number and another 6 digit application ID and asked to call 800 320 1537 to complete the application processing.
Called and was approved for 5K after a brief hold. Rep also confirmed the signup bonus of 40k after 1k spend. Got the application approval email.
6/24: received the account approval notice by mail. Signup bonus and spending requirements are listed.

  • Even tried in Chrome Incognito and Safari. Both the link above and Jill’s link seem dead for the Citi Hilton no annual fee card with no 24 month language and 40K bonus hilton points. Hope everyone signed up before yesterday Jun 14

  • Both the link above and Jill's link seem dead for the Citi Hilton no annual fee card with no 24 month language and 40K bonus hilton points. Dead since yesterday Jun 14.

  • The above link is no longer working (as of now) for the Citi Hilton no annual fee card with no 24 month language and 40K bonus hilton points. Maybe it is a temporary glitch?

    • Try it in Chrome Incognito - that worked for me. (Referring to link posted by 'Jill' above in the comments)

  • I went ahead and applied for the Citi Hilton no fee card with no 24 month language. I decided it was worth the gamble for a last chance. I was going to be at 24 months in Sept. but was worried all links would be dead by then. I had to call and answer just a few questions and was approved. I also helped my spouse apply for Hilton Surpass and it said it was pending. When I try to go to the Citi page to check status it gets an error. I can't get husband to call, too much hassle he says (but he enjoyed our trip to Jamaica on points!).

  • I just submitted an application using this link and received the following message "We're very sorry, but the page you are looking for cannot be found. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please visit View All Cards to see the current list of available products and offers from Citi Credit Cards."

    • Update - I successfully applied using Firefox but was neither approved nor rejected.

  • Doc, How long do you think this link will be around, DW never had any citi hilton, I am thinking of applying for the reserve today and then in a week applying for this? thoughts?

    • No idea, has been around for awhile but impossible to guess when it'll disappear.

  • Question is what do you value Hilton points. 40,000 gets you a night in an average/nice hotel, maybe worth $200. Most sites are valuing Hilton points at .005 or .5 cents. So do you want a hard pull for $200? What's your minimum bonus requirement on a pull? Mine's at least double that.
