I received another offer via e-mail. Spend $300 between 12/6/19 and 2/3/20 and receive 3,000 ThankYou Points. Currently have three offers stacked.
Does anybody have a strategy for getting their large grocery purchases to go through? They are rejected like half the time, which causes problems. Today I even called ahead to have them put a note on my account I was about to make the purchase, but it was declined. Last time after I was declined I quickly called them, they cleared the card, told me it would work, I tried again, and it was declined again. All these declines create so many red flags.
how large grocery purch are you talking about? is it out of whack with your normal spend , credit limits etc?
I don't have any issues with $200-$300 grocery purchases, or $1000 plastiq purch. it might depend on your other spending patterns.
all my purchases are large, this is within my normal spending
yup, no issues with this card for years but now it's impossible to get a charge to go through. Now I dont even get fraud alerts just not authorized messages
I got 5x points for "eligible online purchases" up to 20K points.
I hope this isn't the end of the crazy 10x and 20x offers, 3x is still decent but nowhere as good as the previous ones.
This card is so CONFUSING. I already have an offer activated 10x 10/1/2019 to 12/31/2019 on gas and grocery. And today I got a new offer 5x 12/01/2019 to 3/1/2020 on gas and grocery. If I activate this offer, what is going to happen to my Dec. spending? Do I get 5x or 10x? Also, the bonus points posted two billing statements later, so it is not easy to track what is what.
its to our benefit that its confusing
The offers stack
IIRC, I believe offers have stacked in the past so you should get 15x. That's part of what makes this card so good (but confusing). You can see if both are active by clicking the activation link in the old email again and it should say "Thank You! Your offer has already been activated."
I currently have two offers: one tiered offer for any kind of spend, and 10x back on clothing/dept stores totaling over $200.
EDIT: Also when the bonus posts, at least for the statement credit offers, the name of the credit transaction shows up as something like "Statement Credit 7/1/19 - 9/30/19" which makes it a bit easier to sort out. Not sure about the TYP ones.
I highly doubt it. I already have 10x for Dec. gas and grocery, and by activating this new Dec 5x gas and grocery, you mean I can get 15X thank you points for every dollar spent on gas or grocery. This seems too good to be true.
My offer was 15x 10/1 to 12/31 on gas grocery and restaurants. So 15x isn’t unheard of
mine too, but i cant locate offer, I know I activated it...is there a max statement credit and also a spending amount that has to be reached first?
wish i'd a saved the offer flyer
Just remember to read the terms as many of those offers have a minimum spend requirement or you'll get nothing. Otherwise, it's an insane but true spending bonus.
If you ask for advice/help here, and then reply that you don't believe it or doubt it, why not just call Sears and ask a CSR in the first place? Maybe you would trust them more?
Pls don't call them they might not know in the first place and bonus posts automatically in a cycle or two. Also it might bring unnecessary attention to the stacking opportunity.
the reps know all about the stacking and will confirm it on the phone.
I can confirm offers stack. Recently received 25,000 TYP for only 1000 spend.
@jake.. Same thing happened to me.. Doc will both offers stack? Or does anyone know if multiple offers will stack or will you lose the previous offer if you active a new offer?
Yes they stack
multiple offers stack together with this card and I have benefitted immensely from this - one month they gave 10% on travel + 100 back on $1000 purchase so made $180 in the same month, just November month my card had 3 offers spend $750+ get 100 ,20% of grocery, gas station and restaurants(120 max) and 40 back in points on spend from 11/27 to 12/27 ,So if you activate all offers and time your offers and spend this card is very very beneficial
The rewards program seems very disorganized. I also have two statement credit offers on this card: the first one is 18 MONTHS SPECIAL FINANCING
+ 5% BACK AS A
STATEMENT CREDIT (UP TO A TOTAL MAXIMUM OF $50 FOR THE ELIGIBLE SPECIAL FINANCING PURCHASES). The second one is to get 100 statement credit after spending 2000. Anyway, I have ACTIVATED both. I guess two months later I will know if they can be stacked. LOL
Same offer, except 5x
can you still apply for this card?
AFAIK, yes
Even if one applies, one would receive the SYW version, right? I've been reading comments that they have stopped allowing cardholders to convert to TYP since earlier this year.
You can product change into the statement credit, Citi TYP version.
I asked because I've been considering applying for it, but when you've posted alerts about new deals about this card over the course of this year there have been commenters stating that since June/July of this year when they called Sears to convert it to the TYP version they were denied.
comments on FT that they are not being allowed to convert.
Still works AFAIK
Yeah, you'd get the SYW version. You can still get some pretty great offers, but they'll post as statement credits instead of bonus TYP.
When do the SYW statement credits post?
The fine print says up to 2 billing cycles, but usually I see them post within a week or two after the statement closes.
Actually scratch that, it takes about a month. For some reason they backdate the time the credits post so you wait a month and then see the credit dated like a month ago.
