Our Verdict

I believe the regular signup offer is just $40, and we may have seen it once as go as high as $200. The current $225 is probably the highest ever and a nice cash bonus. A lot of people might also be interested in the card for the ongoing spend offers which the card constantly sends out. We’ll add this to our list of Best Current Credit Card Bonuses.

  • I completed the spend on the "150,000 bonus points for spending $1500 on any purchases between Nov 1 and Dec 31" offer on December 5, but haven't received the points yet. Should I be worried?

Much of the spend got the 10% statement credit for utilities, and if you subtract out that statement credit, my spend goes below $1,500. Could this be the problem?

        • Yes we know that, it’s a very common awesome offer on this card. It’s just cool that you got the lower spending threshold and than the typical $1000 and your offer actually comes how to a higher earning rate.

There’s another thread on here (DoC) that has DPs in the comments for all the things that count for Online Shopping. I myself mostly use online pickup orders for my grocery store (no extra fees) and I recently realized my utilities also count as Online Shopping.

          • How did you know for sure that utilities were successful as online shopping? Does it show you that something is online shopping or not before the promo ends and points post?. I paid my USAA insurance insurance based on earlier DPs to get started, but I'm not sure how I'd verify if it was even a successful online shopping purchase or not. Like utilities, insurance is supposed to not count.

          • You get periodic progress emails for the online spend offer saying “spend X amount more by __ date to achieve your offer.”

So if you test online spending right away after activating the offer, then when you get the progress emails, you can see how much counted by reversing the math. “Need to spend $348.90 more” on a $1000 offer means that you made $651.10 of qualified spending so far. As long as you have unique transactions that possibly qualify, then you can check the math and see exactly what qualified. In my case I wasn’t even thinking I’d spent any online spend yet, maybe a small amount but then it said i had about halfway to go and yep it was all my utility payments down to the penny.

  • Was just very pleasantly surprised to discover several of my utilities count for the online spend offer!

    SoCal Gas - worked!
    SoCal Edison - worked!
    Golden State Water - worked!

SoCal Gas has a $1.50 flat fee for paying with CC and lets you pay as much as you want.

SoCal Edison has a $1.65 flat fee for paying with CC but you can only pay the due amount. There’s no late fee though for a bill paid a bit late so you can wait til the next bill and then pay the double-bill due amount to take even better advantage of the flat fee and timing of spending offers/Min Spend.

Golden State Water has no CC fee and lets you pay however much you want.

I’m thrilled to discover this since I pretty regularly get the online spend offer for 250,000 pts on $1000 spend. Only tried them this month because of the 10% on utilities offer.

  • Is there a “rule” as far as hard pulls..or such.? I had applied for 3 cards 3 months ago and only got one.. also 3 hits to my credit for loan apps for a car loan. The one card I got happened to be a citi custom cash for whatever that is worth (being a card from citi the same issuer). I have a good relationship with citi over this time and a great credit score.. 745 experian, 785 Equifax and 704 transunion.. perfect payment history on 10 credit cards. Would I stand a chance of getting this card? Or citi double cash? Ty

    • DPs suggest it’s not difficult the get this card even with several recent account opening but of course YMMV.

  • The credit for spending $1000 within the month, does that usually post on the next statement date like the original credit offer?

    • The statement credit for that one usually posts within a few days of all the spending being achieved. However credits for these offers are always backdated to near the start of the statement cycle for some weird reason. So if you’re waiting for it, make sure you scroll back through the Recent Transactions and keep tapping “view more transactions” until you get to the end of the list. If you have any credits this month/period, that’s where you’ll see them.

If you’re talking about the 250,000 points offer for online spending that also usually shows up within a few days of the final required spending in your ShopYourWay points balance.

      • I hit it on 10/29 and there's no credit showing in any of the recent transactions all the way back to the last statement date. May need to give them a call.

        • Hmm ok, I haven’t actually gone for the smaller statement credit ones myself so it’s possible that similar to the GGR offer, there’s a delay until next statement for getting the credit. The other credit offers don’t work that way in my experience, only the GGR offer, and even that only started being delayed in 2024 with the yearly GGR offer. So I assumed the online spending credit would act like the others and post pretty quickly.

Beyond that I’d ask how sure are you that all of your spending qualified?

          • I've taken to tracking it all in spreadsheet to make sure I hit it. I did call and they confirmed I did meet the requirements and gave me the exact dollar figure I spent (which matched what I had). She did say it takes 1-2 billing cycles to show up, but I'm sure that was just some standard thing they have to say. I'm kind of expecting it to show up on my next statement like the original $225 credits did.

  • The offers tab in my online account shows an activated offer that I never received an email for, or activated in any way. It’s a good offer: 10% off utilities for monthly spend between $350 and $400 from 11/1/2024 (or the date you activate this offer, whichever is later) through 1/31/2025.

Between this and the unactivatable offer for 150,000 points below, I wonder if their IT department is having a bad day.

      • @guest_1667146 I just got the email to activate for the utilities. Of no use to me since my utilities don't add enough to hit the number. I get 5% via the Elan card anyway.

        • Yeah my monthly utilities aren’t usually that high but close-ish enough that when it makes sense I’ll wait and pay them early or late (no fee) so I get multiple payments in the same month/promo period, or even just pay extra so I’ll pay less the following month.

I have the Cash+ card for 5% on utilities so wouldn’t normally switch, but for 10% I will! I hope I get the actual offer.

          • Hope you got it. I would have to prepay gas/electric at least three or four months at to hit the $450. I don't think electric lets me prepay. I know gas does.

          • I DID get it. Yay!
I’m in California and got a $85 climate credit on my electric bill this month so that knocked off a nice chunk and I’m probably going to wait and not pay my utility bills in Nov and then pay them Dec 1 and then pay my Dec bills at their normal times to hit the $450 (plus prepay any amount I need to to hit that).

    • 150,000 pts offer Activated today! Not showing up in my offers tab but I never go by that anyway.

Still haven’t seen anything about the 10% utilities AND it’s no longer showing up in my offers tab!

    • Yeah I’m seeing the same thing in my offers tab only it’s for min $450 spend for me on Utilities. That would be awesome if it’s actually a live offer for me starting in November

  • Holy cow another awesome offer!!

150,000 bonus points for spending $1500 on ANY PURCHASES between Nov 1 and Dec 31! Will hit that easy peasy with my normal spen on the card!

Hot damn this card is unbelievable!

Right now I’ve got there’s offers:
    • $100/$200 for 1000/2000 GGR each month through Dec
    • 10% on $450-$500 Utilities each month through Jan
    • 10% on $1-$1000 in Entertainment and Travel (no min spend!) each month through Dec
    • $50 credit after (5) $75+ transactions each month through Nov
    • 250,000 points for $1000 Online Shopping 10/15-11/14

    • And now this offer!

HOWEVER! I’m getting a “we’re sorry this offer is NOT activated at this time, please try again later” message when trying to activate this new one. Never seen that before but also don’t usually get new offers two days before the offer period starts so I’ll try again a few times but may not work until Nov 1. Anyone else having this issue?

    • Seems like the emails accidental went out early this month. It should probably be able to activate on Friday (11/1) when they are normally sent out. I've never received a first of the month offer though, and only sometimes receive the 15th of the month online spend offers. Citi knows I use my card a lot and probably doesn't think it's worth targeting me

      • I use the card a TON and keep getting more and more offers, including several on the 1st of the month. The only one I still get on the 15th is the Online Spend offer.

And yes the offer activated today.

  • Got a new offer:

and earn a statement credit on eligible gas station, grocery store and restaurant purchases until 12/31/2024. Earn $150 back in a statement credit when you spend $1,000 – $1,999.99 each month or earn $250 back in a statement credit when you spend $2,000 or more each month.

Assumes that means I can spend 1k each month and get 3 x &150. Easily knocked out with 2 x $500 VGCs.

    • When did your credit post? I hit my $1000 mark on 10/29. Credit never posted, support rep confirmed I hit the $1000. Said it could take 6 weeks for credit. Still have not got it yet.

      • The GGR offer has a delay for sure til the next statement cycle. But this card has an odd quirk where no matter when the credit hits your account it gets dated for the first day on the current cycle, so you may have received it and just not noticed because you didn’t scroll down in your recent transactions. I’d login and scroll down, hitting “Load More Transactions” until you can’t any more, and if you don’t see it in the Recent Transactions then go to the previous statement cycle and scroll back through those transactions to the beginning of the list.

  • The last offer was 200,000 points on $750 online spend between 8/15-9/15. I did, got the points and redeemed them for a $200 giftcard on 9/1.

Now I received another email saying that I have spent$0 towards this offer. Hurry, offer ends on 9/14. Does anyone know if I spend another $750 I'll get another 200,000 points?

    • No it doesn’t mean you get to double the offer in the same time period. This is just the automated progress email that goes out and it’s often innacurate about your qualified spending progress. Just ignore it.

    • I got the same email after completing the offer. Doubt it would work again but you're welcome to try and be the DP.
