Curious, I've had the Citi custom cash card for about 2 years, racked up nice reserve of "citi thank you points" .... but I'm being told today that I can't use them for a transfer to Wyndham. Apart from being disappointed, what did I miss? Is this Citi "custom cash" card essentially worthless?
Reminder, if you have Rewards+ you get an additional 10% bonus on the first 100K points redeemed in a year.
when does the bonus show up? just transferred 1,000 TYP as a test (I'm at the non-prestige rate) - = 960. But don't see the 20% bonus.
If you're transferring from a no AF card like the DC that already includes the bonus. 1:0.8 is 1000-800, 800x1.2=960 TYP.
duh....thanks for the clarification. That makes sense...they could have shown it on the page a little more clearly. Thought it was 20% on top of what was shown. Forgot about the actual original conversion rate.
What 15k places are there left? 1-2 nice wyndham places in NYC but they are booked 90% of the time when I check for a quick NYC run. besides that, I only see Vacasa being worth it.
vacasa..... yes, often HUGE values there... (our #1 "choice") Am amazed that's still around.
If you combine this deal with the Wyndham card 15% discount, you’ve got yourself a terrific deal with 15k nights costing ~11.5k TYP.
Wyndham card discount is 10%
My bad, it is indeed a 10% discount, but you'd still need 11.5k TYP for a free night.
It’s even slightly lower. My math shows 11,250 TYP. If you transfer those to Wyndham you would get 13500, which is what you need to redeem a 15k night if you have the card.
True but I think you can only transfer TYP -> in multiples of 500 points, which is why I said 11.5k
TYP can only be transferred in increments of 1000 TYP points.
Great point, thank you, @guest_1680407 !
