  • Citi are offering a 30% transfer bonus when you transfer your Citi ThankYou points to JetBlue’s TrueBlue program. The normal transfer rates depend on what Citi card you hold and are as follows:
    • 1,000 Citi ThankYou Points = 800 TrueBlue points for Citi ThankYou® Premier, Citi Prestige® and Citi Chairman®
    • 1,000 Citi ThankYou Points = 500 TrueBlue points  For Citi ThankYou Preferred or Citi Forward
  • After the 30% transfer bonus the rates are as follow:
    • 1,000 Citi ThankYou Points = 1,040 TrueBlue points for Citi ThankYou® Premier, Citi Prestige® and Citi Chairman®
    • 1,000 Citi ThankYou Points = 650 TrueBlue points  For Citi ThankYou Preferred or Citi Forward

Our Verdict

Citi have offered transfer bonuses for JetBlue before, previous transfer bonuses have been as follows:

Overall this deal isn’t terrible for those needing JetBlue points, but the 50% is definitely more tempting. Who knows if we will ever see a bonus that high again.

  • Just attempted to transfer, and got an error; so I called in, and the explanation was that a chunk of my points were ineligible for transfer because they were earned from my Citi checking account. Apparently those are eligible for other ThankYou uses, including flight booking...but not transfers to other programs. I was able to transfer the points I had earned on my Prestige card, though.

  • I thought this was valid until 5/19? Like Ed said above, I'm seeing 1000:800 now also. William, any idea what happened?

  • Boo..I just did a redemption of 20k TY points at 800 JB points per 1k TY. Does Citi match previous redemptions?

  • I'm jumping on this now. By the time a 50% bonus rolls around a Trueblue point could easily be worth a lot less.

    • Or it won't...? The last 50% bonus was basically a year ago, JetBlue points have been stable in value for years. Relax.

  • That’s got me excited and I even opened the link to read the article but then I realized I closed all my citi cards except for a new AA card

    • But that’s only 25% more. You would pay a Amex transfer fee and taxes when you booked. It would be better to redeem them as MR for flights if you have the Biz Plat.

      Unless you’re trying to do flights from JFK.

      • JFK to HNL “two nonstop roundtrips” in economy for 128K MR points.
        I think its a good redemption.
        And then 200K Hilton for 5 nights at Hilton Waikiki beach resort.
        Life is still good #Blessed 😂
