Comenity Bank To Take Over NFL Card Portfolio From Barclays

Update 3/22/22: The F.A.Q page is now live. Some details:

  • New card will be mailed on April 15th, 2022
  • New card will go live on April 22, 2022

Late last year Alliance Data (Comenity Bank) has announced it would be taking over the NFL card portfolio from Barclays and purchasing the backbook from Barclays to service existing cardholders as well. Comenity has started to let cardholders know about this change and there is a F.A.Q page, but that doesn’t seem to be live currently.

  • Nightmare!! It's November...still no new card. Comenity blowing up my phone. This card has been on autopay since I got it, but now it's ruining my credit. I had no idea this change in banks even happened. I can't get into anything to make payments. Got them on the phone once, was told it was good to go... WRONG.

  • I still cannot get online access. I have not spent on the card. I can check my balance on the automated phone line, but would like online access.
    If anyone has succeeded in getting online access, pls post simplified instructions.
    Also, Has anyone signed up for the NFL+ free 1year offer?
    Any small balance credits post?

    • I had little problem getting online access. I noticed they didn't credit my final payment with Barclay, and made me do their Dispute thing over $7. After reading about how horrible your life could be with Comenity, sounds like a Disease, I will not use it and that included their NFL + offer. You know if you get it this year, they will bill you next year, even if you hate it

  • Comenity is a nightmare!!! Please, Barclay buy the accounts back!!

    Site was down for over a month at the transition-could only pay on phone if you could get through and get a working number and then have to pay a fee.

    Now it’s intermittent.

    Issue with rewards not being transferred from Barclay to Comenity and earning points.

    Issue with payments showing up in system-says no payments made or pending and when try to pay for that day switches it to a month and a half away. So days later make payment again because nothing is showing paid or pending. Days later again multiple payments going through so will have a $3500 credit on card!!! They can’t (won’t) cancel pending payments (now showing, now not showing) and “once it is credited we will send it back to your bank after it is reviewed”. “Or you can cancel it with your bank and pay us a $28 fee for for the stopped payment”. What?!?!

    Horrible!!!

  • Well this sucks.. I put the $3.49 on my account.. normally the low balance is refunded to 0.. but this month there is no small balance waiver.. I wonder what the new small balance waiver is?

  • For those of you who received the new cards from Comenity bank, did you have to activate before you were able to use the cards?

    I never received a notice regarding the conversion or my new card so I was going to call them and ask to send a new card. However after reading the comments here and from reddit, I decided not to ask them to send my card due to the recent outage and their egregious history.

    • yes, I had to activate the new card with help from a tech, but when I logged out, I could not and still can't log in even with tech help. Thank goodness, I paid off my balance before Barclay sold out. now, I need to know how to cancel this new card asap!

  • Received notice from credit monitoring site that my credit score had dropped 56 points!!!! Checked my report and it was my NFL card. Logged into my app and it wouldn’t let me on. Finally got the answer when I tried to call Number on the back of my card. Have always had this set up for auto pay. I never got a notification or new card. Now I’ve got to dispute my credit! BS!!

    • I have the same problem. Now both Barclays and comenity reported non payment to credit bureau. Barclays say I owe them and comenity says the same. No luck on phone calls. Both of them suck!

    • i was given 800-220-1181 by Barclay service dept... no luck! they gave me another # 855-796-9632 and no help there either.

  • What a nightmare. Never got my new card and was never informed about the change. Finally after numerous calls got the number to call. Took 3 calls to figure out they have the wrong address. Don’t even know how they got the address since we stayed there for a month in between closing on our new home over a year ago. They said they’ll send out the new cards. Month later and nothing. Call back to be told I need to prove my address. Need to print out my utility bill and mail it to them. I asked if I can just email it or upload it since everything I do is digital. Nope, need to mail it and they need to review it. Waste of time, just cancelled the card. Not worth the hassle.
