Comenity Forever21 Credit Card Review

Comenity Bank (known for the shopping cart trick) have just launched a new co-branded credit card with Forever21. Let’s see if the card is worth signing up for in this review.

The Basics

  • $10 discount for making your first purchase outside Forever 21 within 90 days of account opening
  • Card earns at the following rates:
  • Points are automatically redeemed for a $5 rewards certificate for every 300 points earned
  • Double point events throughout the year
  • Exclusive cardholder only promotions
  • 15% off your first purchase
  • 21% off on Forever 21’s birthday
  • $5 Birthday Discount on accessories

Our Verdict

Each point is basically worth 1.67¢ towards Forever 21 purchases. Obviously this isn’t nearly as good as cash (especially when you can purchase Forever21 gift cards at a deep discount). There are much better options out there for your restaurant and every day spend, getting 5% back on your Forever 21 purchases isn’t bad – but how much do you really spend at that one store? You’re probably much better off going with a card that earns you a higher cash sign up bonus initially, even if it doesn’t earn much long term.

  • I got approved for the forever 21 visa with a $1000 limit. Took about 15 days to arrive. I registered the card by phone & online. Card would not work. I called Comneity who issues the card they said they cancelled it because my credit score dropped 20 points from credit checks. Why send my card if it's cancelled. Very bad business practice.

  • I was instantly approved for a forever21 card with $1000 credit limit. There is a card in my cart that is a new card with a forever21 card logo next to it, but is saved under credit card and not forever21 card. I'm assuming I was approved for the visa, but still have not received it in the mail. I'm unable to order from them due to not having the cvv number for the card. Anything I can do to speed up the process so I can make a purchase?

  • You have to enter 0's for first 5 numbers and last 4 of your social security number in order for it to be soft pull. Ex: 000001234

  • I'm trying to rebuild my credit .. I'm thankful to have been approved for the Victoria secret and newyork& co with having items in card was approved .. shopping cart worked for me .. I'm wanting one card for store that would have clothing for men ..and I be straight any ideas? Or shall I wait ..

  • I didn't do the shopping cart trick but I applied and I was approved instantly for the forever 21 visa credit card and $1000 credit limit! Very shocking but I've been working on my credit and it's been going between 670 and 720, my question is can I pay bills with this card?

  • The Shopping Cart Trick worked for me at Victoria Secret but it'n not popping up for Forever 21, and I just saw that they have a stor card and a visa card, but I'm not sure which one to apply for.

  • I didn't do the shopping cart trick, that don't seem to work for me in any store 😒 But when I applied for this card, I got approved with no hard pull done. I don't know why, but like what Kera said, everyone is different. 😊👍🏻

    • Express does the samething no hard pull was done when I did them and I did not get a hard pull through the whole regular application.
