Not a huge savings, but I suspect some people are ordering more through food delivery services than normal at the moment.

  • FYI, once you add a DoorDash gift card to your account, you can't use the Chase Sapphire Reserve benefits until you've used up all the money on it. There's no way to not pay with the GC, and you don't get the perks like free delivery, reduced fees, etc. I regret previously buying one and would say it's definitely not worth it for anyone with a CSR.

  • Can you use gift cards (i.e. instead of Chase Reserve) on Doordash orders to get the Reserve benefits? Thanks.

    • Not the reimbursement (for obvious reasons), but the other benefits should be associated to the account once they're activated (regardless of payment method).

      • This was not true for me. I was only able to get free delivery when paying with my Chase Sapphire card. Once I switched payment methods at checkout, I was charged a delivery fee. The message at checkout says "This card isn't eligible for DashPass benefits. Use Chase Sapphire to get benefits"

      • Not sure that's the case. I've tried using my Amex Gold (for 4x points) and it removes the waived delivery fee and reduced service fee. It's made me use my CSR to check out. Not sure if others have similar experiences.

  • Well, a local bar is delivering beer through DoorDash now... Might have to revisit this.
