Our Verdict

Basically a free $24 if you can be bothered to submit 24 rebates. Card comes a virtual rewards card so kind of annoying but free is free.

  • First submission rejected due to the fact that A-B appears to have hired drunken squirrels to review submitted receipts. Receipt had no fewer than seven eligible products on it, but was still rejected as ineligible. Sigh.

  • Suppose I have a receipt with, say, 9 food items each exceeding $1. I read the rebate to mean I should get a $9 Mastercard?

    If I have three such receipts, I should get $9, $9, $6 for a total of $24?

I read "Limit (24) submission(s)" to mean you can submit up to 24 times, if each receipt only has one food item exceeding $1.

    • It does not say $1 per receipt. It's $1 "on the purchase of a" (I read it to mean "per") food item.

  • I got my $5 Natural Light reward last week. Thank you DoC! It's an Anheuser-Busch logo Mastercard in my Apple Wallet. Is this ultimately really just a way to slap an advertisement on our phones? Every time I open my wallet, I will now see the AB logo. The thought of having up to 24 - $1 cards all saying Cutwater or AB makes me thing this like bumper sticker advertising on our phones.

    • You don't have to add it to your phone. You will get a card number, exp date and CVV that you can use to pay for things online. As mentioned, I used my cards from this to prepay my T-Mobile and Spectrum bills.

  • There are several variants of this deal. Change the AB-XXXX string at the end of the URL William Charles posted to view each one.

    • AB-8729 - Get $1 back via rebate on a prepared food item. (x24)
    • AB-8727 - Get $1 back via rebate on the purchase of one (1) Appetizer (x24)
    • AB-8761 - Get $1 back via rebate on the purchase of one (1) healthy food item or water item.(x24)
    • AB-8734 - Get $1 back via rebate on the purchase of tortilla chips. (x24)
    • AB-8707 - Get $1 back via rebate on one (1) hot food item (hot dog, pizza, etc) (x5)
    • AB-8721 - Get $1 back via rebate on one (1) hot food item (hot dog, pizza, etc) (x5)
    • AB-8719 - Get $1 back via rebate on coffee (x2)
    • AB-8703 - Get $1 back via rebate on brats (x2)

These A-B rewards cards are still issued by Pathward, but now they can't be added to Apple wallet. The only liquidation option left is probably bill pay that accept small transactions.

  • Well I just submitted about 15 grocery receipts I had stacked up. Time to wait and see how it plays out.

  • They are issuing pre-paid virtual visas for $1? Yeah, that might be a tad too annoying to deal with.

    • Ahhhhh fuck it, I did it. I took 24 eligible receipts from my Receipt Hog App, downloaded them, and submitted 24 individual rebate requests. Whole process took me 30 minutes. Hopefully, they just send me a single $24 card.

    • I prepaid my T-Mobil bill with the $2 and $3 ones and then with the $1 one, I prepaid my Spectrum bill since T-Mobile had to be >$1.

  • As I sent to Will, I submitted 6 random receipts I already had. 4 were from grocery stores and 2 were from restaurants. It was only supposed to be $1 each, but I got $12 so seemingly $2 for each. But the weird thing is I got 4x $2, one for $1 and one for $3. Limit is 24 and you have all the year, so hopefully I'll get $48 total. It took 4 days from when I submitted to when I got paid. I submitted 9 more today.
