Doesn't Discover release all four season categories at once?or I misremember
Usually they do
Maybe we get lucky and chase has more useful categories.... Need wholesale club and/or grocery.
Home improvement stores include Lowe's and Home Depot. Both sell third party gift cards.
But will they give you the 5% for the giftcards? I've read they don't. Guess I will just see what they got and test it out.
purchase at the stores will give you 5%.
No Hulu / Disney+?
How is “Restaurants” not one of the best categories???
Best Categories are those which are essential to ones life, Such as Groceries, Gas or EV charging, Health or Auto insurance and or Utility fees........
Restaunrants, Streaming Services are not essential and not having them on your monthly bill saves you a ton more than a 2-3% extra cash back compared to a 2% card.
It is a great category. Team points would rather earn 3x in most point ecosystems if they aren't in the year 1 cashback match.
Travel teams are trash anyway
Given one can get 10%-15-20% boost on gift cards at Discover, that 5% is actually 5.5%-6%, so you need about 1.83-2 cpp to match. FM currently lists only Amtrak with an RRV higher than that (and you don't get 3x dining with their cards). With TPG valuations, sure.
TPG is also trash and is always in it for their referrals. Why would I even listen to them?
Most restaurants don’t sell gift cards!
Frugal people cook at home.
You guys get to eat???
Not with these grocery prices
.. do you think restaurants get ingredients for free, or what?
Do you just not eat? Food at home is still cheaper than food out.
Because people have other cards that give 3 or 4 points on restaurants already
