Our Verdict

This offer was sent out to many/most of us via email (subject: <your name> how’s an extra $200 sound?), but not to everyone. (I’m not aware of any signup bonus from Discover for new accounts available at the moment.) I love these kinds of offers for accounts I already own since it’s an easy transfer to get the bonus.

Discover always offers a pretty decent savings APY rate on their savings account and so there isn’t any downside to tying up your funds in the account for 1.5 months. Easy win for someone with the $15k/$25k cash.

  • Any thoughts if Discover Bank will give me $200 instead of $100 for their Savings Bonus? I deposited $24,960 in new money instead of $25k because I thought the interest I got the previous month was part of the balance.

  • I just received an email from Discover Bank, saying, "...you earned $200 through this bonus offer. Your bonus will be credited to your account by 6/10/25."

  • Less than 2 weeks remaining in the 30-day bonus payout period and still no bonus.

    Where's my damn bonus!

  • Did you guys pull out your 15k or 25k? It needed to be kept only till 5/11
I thought I will keep it there till the bonus shows up, but it costs me 79c a day to keep it at Discover vs my best interest paying account.

I am thinking of pulling my money out this weekend

    • Yes, I pulled 25k out on 5/12 and transferred to a money market account which currently earns 4.21%.

    • You can withdraw once you have fulfilled all the requirement for the bonus. I did this several times before, absolutely no problems and received the bonus fine. @guest_2004654

    • I withdrew most of my money a few days ago. It should be fine, based on the terms. I haven't seen a data point to confirm it from previous bonus periods, but also don't see people complaining about Discover not following the terms, so probably it worked fine in the past.

      • My $200 bonus posted today (6/9), for the promo that said hold until 5/11; I withdrew most of the money on 5/19.

or do you think better to wait till bonus shows up?

      • @guest_2004654 I pulled mine out on 5/12. I've seen a few DPs of people pulling funds before the bonus with no issues. I havn't done that in previous bonuses but wanted to fund my Wells biz account.

  • No bonus yet, how long does it usually take to post for these targeted offers?

    • In 2023, the bonus posted for me 17 days after the end of the hold period (the dates were 10/30 and 11/16). (And 2 days before it posted, I got an email saying that I earned the bonus.)

      • Similar timeline in 2024 for me. I think it was just about 2 weeks after the end of the promo, email received that I got it was actually after it posted :)
