Our Verdict

This tweet confirms it’s a Visa or Mastercard. If you’re wondering why somebody would do this, you need 40,000 unique donors to be invited to the first debate. Politics aside, $1 turning into $20 is a good deal. It is the firs 50,000 people only, I assume it’ll be announced when that cap is hit but a politician not announcing that wouldn’t surprise me either. I also imagine this will result in a huge amount of spam so weigh if that is worth it. Personally this is a pass for me.

Try to keep the comments to discussion of the actual deal rather than political talking points. Given the deal I imagine that will be almost impossible so I’ll likely close the comments after an hour or two.

  • Card received today. Like others, yesterday I received a request for my e-mail via the Venmo donation.

  • I got an email from Saurez. "Can you send me your email so I can send you the Bidenomics relief?" Why does he need my email if he just sent a message to my email?

  • @will @chucksithe I sent a 1$ donation to Doug on July 27 and received my 20$ gc today, even tho he reached his 40k goal I believe he will keep paying up to the first 50k he’s advertising, worth trying for those who haven’t imo

    • I'm pretty sure he has blown way past 50K donors at this point. He is probably hoping for some momentum before the 1st debate.

      • The overage is likely accounting for fake users, which would be very astute in my opinion given the context. I think an audit would reveal a staggeringly large number.

  • If you haven't received your $20 gift card here's what I did. I emailed hello@teamburgum.com with a copy of my confirmation. Two days later I received the gift card. I gave the donation on 7/12. @will

    • I just did this, hopefully it works, I keep getting emails asking me how did I used my gc(that I have yet to receive) lmao, to be fair I only donated last Thursday and allegedly takes up to a week to be sent, but I find it weird that I keep getting a bunch of emails asking me how did I use my gc

  • Risked it and donated 1$ even if the threshold has been reach, received an email that due to high demand my gc will arrive in a week, is fine if it doesn’t though.
