[Expired] Dosh: 20% Back on Sam’s Club Store Purchases, Max $15 Cashback Per Day

Update (8/24/18): They sent out another email today with an increased cash back offer at Sam’s. Mine was 10% with a max $20 per day. You may have gotten a different offer. No clear expiration date stated this time.

Update: Dosh has updated the terms found under the activity section and it’s now $15 cash back per day rather than $15 total. Hat tip to reader TomJ

The Offer

Dosh is sending out an offer for Sam’s Club:

  • Spend at Sam’s Club with a linked card and get 20% back in your Dosh account.
  • Others are seeing different offers, like 10% or 5%.

They also mention $15 back for buying a new Sam’s Club membership. (There are often similar Sam’s signup offers through various channels.)

The Fine Print

  • Offer valid from Thurs 8/16 at 12:01am PT to Wed 8/22 at 11:59pm PT.
  • $15 max cash back.
  • Bonus paid by Wed 8/29.
  • Offer valid at participating in-store locations.

Our Verdict

I assume this offer is for all Dosh members (?). 20% at Sam’s Club is pretty sweet! Sam’s sells a wide variety of items, gas purchases or gift card purchases should work too. Oddly, in my Dosh app, I can’t yet find the 20% offer, it’s still showing 2%, probably not updated yet. Some readers see the offer showing properly in the ‘Activity’ tab.

Max this out with $75 in purchases. In the past, the limit was enforced per day, so it might be possible to do $75 in purchases per day and get $15 back for each purchase.

    Random little FYI -- at least for me, Forever 21 has a bonus of 10 dollars for making your first purchase. My store (in MN) had a clearance section full of quirky items, bought a birthday candle for $1.00 and it triggered the bonus :)

    • My sister just got the payout for August 29 but it came in reduced perhaps deducting the 2% she already received???

      • Okay, confirmed. My sister was given 8% and not 10% for the payment that was to be paid on Aug 29th. She had already received 2% when the 3 purchases were made. Her total was $45 when it was all said and done.

        • I am waiting on payment on purchases from 8/22 and 8/29. Expecting 18% (20% - initial 2%). She must have had the 10% offer. Hoping th payout comes soon. I bought several times during that period.

    • I never saw any particular details about it being per day on my app. Tried again today since it was still showing up and it worked again, nearly instantly. Let's see how long it lasts...

      • Same. What a joke. If you aren't going to honor 20% than dont offer it. The email says if you still dont get it in 10 days file a support ticket. Sounds like dosh bit off more than they can chew and now they are turning into swagbucks. Live and learn I guess?

        • Same here... the whole thing has been odd, first it was a delayed bonus, then switched to daily multiplier paid daily with no end date, then added an end date of 29th, now end date is gone again... only thing I can say for sure is this saved me from goin hard on staples deal (thank god) as I’ve been stocking up on Disney gcs for a future trip which I had planned on using Amex offer for.

          • I got mistakenly paid double for the same visit but then am missing like $75 from last weeks bonus period. I'm not unethical so I don't want the double $19 payment but I sure as heck want the $75. Wonder if they got way more people doing this than they could track effectively? Never really understood if it was Sam's paying out the entire bonus or Dosh paying it and getting kickbacks from Sam's. Will wait and see trying to decide whether to cash my current $120 balance so if something really bad comes of this I at least got that money.

          • Got credited $0.81 overnight for some unknown reason... earned $19.19 several days during the 10% period so feel like they mistakenly topped that off to $20 rather than the missing 18% from the two 20% off days... like $30 bucks so I’ll prolly open a ticket come Friday but not too worried about it considering the savings I managed over the past week.

          • So, is anyone still going to Sam's and getting the 10% or 20%? I only didn't get it one time but am now traveling and no Sam's close by. So, I can't be the DP now.

  • So, this got a little interesting.

    I signed up for Dosh just the other day. Sorry, I didn’t use a referral. I got $5 for signing up. Drive to Sams and bought a $50 Steak’n’Shake gift card for $39.95. That reported $4 added to my account. I went there the following day and bought a $100 Sams gift card which they said can be used at Walmart. Nothing reported in the app that day so I figured store gift cards were excluded. Today it reports that they’re giving me $20 for that $100 GC.

    It doesn’t make any sense. In the app it says 10% with a max of $20. I’m not sure why it said $20($29 total) but I’m transferring it while I have it. Since I shop at both Sams and Walmart, I might try to stop in tomorrow and try for another one. I don’t see that I have anything to lose since I can use it to shop there anyways.

      • Maybe so but like I said it says in the app that it should be 10%. Maybe I should have worded my post differently as I was posting to make some aware that they might get 20% back even though it says 10%. I've checked and re-checked my email and never received anything stating I would get 20% either.

        • So, I went back yesterday and bought another $100 gift card. This time I only got 10% back.

          For what it's worth the money I received that included the 20% back from two days ago arrived in my bank account today.

  • I couldn't find this information elsewhere so I just went and tested it.

    The reset is store closing, not every 24 hours. I went last night at closing and spent $200 and received $20 and then I went today and got another $20 off $200 at 10 am.

    Also for my transaction today I did a $10 sam's gc and checked out receiving $1. I then immediately got back into line and put another $190 on the same gc and got $19. Meaning multiple transactions are fine which the wording implies, but this is confirmation.

    • I had a different experience. Sam's purchases on separate days but within 24 hours, no dosh for the second one

    • Great DP's!!! I did the deal again today. But, I am flying out of state tomorrow and kinda unhappy that I might miss out on an incredible ongoing deal. I wonder how long this will go???

      • Updated the terms to say “Offer valid from 8/24/2018 until 8/29/2018. Maximum individual reward 20 dollars.” Pretty certain it had previously said $20/day and didn’t have end date. I had gone 3 days in a row and again today... the app didn’t automatically notify me and that’s when I noticed the terms and thought I was maxed out but about 2 min later it came through. Not sure if I’ll try again tm on last day or not. Nonetheless pretty easy ~14% off Disney gcs while it lasted.
