Update 10/24/20: Deal is back at 2%
Update 9/25/20: Reduced from 6% to 2%.
Update 9/11/20: GC Galore points out that Dosh has added terms requiring click-through from the Dosh app, and this requirement seems to be enforced. Essentially it’s now a 6% portal which still might be good when compared against other portals, but it’s now a trade-off.
The Offer
- The Dosh app is offering 3% cashback at Staples.com
The Fine Print
- Max $5 cashback per day.
Our Verdict
Dosh just sent out an email blast about this offer, you should see it in the app. Nice that it works online so no need to worry about going in store. Much appreciation if you use my signup code CHUCKS2 during signup – you’ll a bonus when when downloading the app and linking a card (not sure if it’s $5 or $1, currently).
Post history:
- Update 7/30/20: Staples.com rate is now at 6% (might have been this way for a few days, I just noticed now).
- Update 7/23/20: Staples.com rate increased to 15% for today only. Max $5 per day is still in place and gift card exclusion still applies. They also have Finish Line at 15% for today only; that one has a $10 max per day; that one is valid online and in-store.
- Update 7/19/20: Rate increased to 6%. Max $5 per day is still in place and gift card exclusion still applies.
- Update 6/30/20: Rate increased to 4%
- Update 5/19/20: Rate further reduced to 2%. Hat tip to GC Galore
- Update 4/10/20: Looks like enough people complained/threatened legal action and pending cash back for the 5% deal is now showing again.
- Update 4/9/20: When the deal was 5% it didn’t exclude gift cards. Despite this Dosh has clawed back cash back earned on gift card purchases. Seems like deceptive and false advertising to me.
- Update 4/7/20: 5% back has been reduced to 3% and maximum cash back has been reduced from $20 to $5 per day. Also excludes gift cards now

Late to Dosh - just signed up with your code to jump on the Staples stack :)
Still 0% in my app, in the Chicagoland area.
This offer does not appear in my account anymore. Anyone else has similar issues?
I just made a purchase at Staples through TCB and paid small amount with CC., rest with GC Dosh tracked the CC amount at 2% while TCB tracked as well at 3% though only on certain items.
are there any cash back portals that pay out for gift card purchases from staples?
Its ymmv but RMN when they have occasionally have it pays out (at times). For organic spend,
I think DOSH is inferior now because DOSH does not pay for the portion that you use coupons and rewards for (I just tried it with the airpods deal applying rewards, GC and CC - so am able to confirm this - only the portion charged to CC tracked). For a long time TCB and most others used to be to the same (though they would pay out gift card spend). But in recent times TCB has paid out even the portion that had coupons and rewards (and gift cards) applied. So even if you have only $90 to spend at Staples, I would use a portal like TCB (or RMN if they have a better rate) than Dosh and then hope that DOSH tracks just on the credit card basis alone.
Thanks Harry. To be clear, I'm talking about purchasing a gift card using my credit card. It sounds like you might be talking about the use of a staples gift card to purchase something from staples, but that isn't what I'm asking about. I did try making a purchase of a gift card using RMN yesterday and so far it hasn't tracked.
Buying GCs has tracked in the past with RMN. It takes a couple days at least to show up. its ymmv though.
RMN=Retailmenot? I didn’t even know they were a cash back site.
I made a purchase last week. Clicked on Dosh to visit store, but purchased on PC through a portal. Currently the purchase is pending in both places.
There are a lot of comments here so it's probably already been answered, but does this only work for Staples.com (as the post states) or does it work at Staples B&M also?
Did anybody get 6% in DOSH app now for extraordinary purcchases?
@Roger, yes. Since change took effect (on 9/11?), 13 of my 14 transactions have paid (can’t remember if it was 2% or 6% at the tine but irrelevant at $5 max). Even before app change I would have occasional fails for unknown (to me) reasons. I am always careful of the 24 hour rule but I’m unsure if the clock resets at purchase or when I deposit the funds in Dosh.
I have 5 more pending.

Eff Dosh.
I think dosh banned me from all staples, office depot, and sams club
Sue them.
Got the email for Staples but don't have the offer for Staples. Dosh is such a tease.
