The Offer

Direct Link

Amex Membership Rewards-earning cards can get double Membership Rewards (2x instead of 1x) at many retailers. You can enroll in these offers directly at the above link or by finding the offer in your Amex login. Here is the list:

  • Walmart.com (this one is found in your login, not at the above link)
  • Rite Aid (in-store only)
  • Whole Foods Market (in-store only)
  • Best Buy (online only)
  • Boxed.com (online only)
  • Staples.com
  • Home Depot (online only)
  • Neiman Marcus (online only)
  • Macy’s (online only)
  • Gap brands: Gap, Old Navy, Athleta, Banana (online only)
  • Pottery Barn brands (online only)
  • Westelm.com (online only)
  • Intermix online (online only)
  • BergdorfGoodman.com (online only)
  • markandgraham.com (online only)
  • rejuvenation.com (online only)
  • Williams-Sonoma (online only)
  • Yard House
  • Olive Garden
  • Longhorn Steakhouse
  • Seasons 52
  • Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen
  • The Capital Grille
  • Bahama Breeze

All these above can be saved by going to the direct link. There are a few more that were added now (10/3/17) which are showing in the login, but not at the main link. These are targeted and aren’t showing for everyone:

  • BJ’s Wholesale (in-club only)
  • Exxon
  • Toys R Us and Babies R Us (both in-store and online)
  • Seamless.com
  • Grubhub.com

There’s also the standard offer to get 2x MR points on Uber. This has no expiration date and does not need enrollment.

The Fine Print

  • Valid through 12/31/17
  • Limit 1 enrolled Card per American Express Card online account
  • When we calculate the additional points benefit for Amex EveryDay® Card products, points awarded under this offer will not be included

Our Verdict

A lot of these merchants aren’t terribly useful [you probably aren’t using an MR card at Staples (5x INK) or maybe even at restaurants (3x CSR)], but some of these can be useful for sure. If you have the Everyday Preferred card which can get 1.5 points always, you’ll be getting 2.5 with these offers. All other cards which earn 1x always will get 2x with these offers.

It’s also nice to stack this offer with an Amex Offer deal, like if you’re taking advantage of the $30 off $300 deal at Best Buy, use a registered MR card to get the double points from this offer as an added bonus.

If you have the Blue Business Plus card, you’ll get 3x total after enrolling in these offers. You might not see Amex Offers on the BfBP card, but you can enroll using the direct link, above (HT: FM). This will only work if you don’t already have those offers saved on another Amex card, e.g. if BfBP is in it’s own login.

  • It seems that the AMEX cash back cards get you less and less. No Whole Foods deals for the entire year!

    • Blue Business Plus? If so, there is a way to get them to appear. Frequent Miler had a post detailing the method. Haven't checked the newer offers, but I have all the old ones.

  • All these offers for MR cards lately but nothing for my Blue Cash Everyday, huh. Only thing I got recently was the 5 off 20 for Five Guys. Oh well.

    • I agree. No Whole Foods deals for the entire year on the cash back cards. That really sucks! It seems that the cash back cards are getting less of the good deals.

  • Living In rural hawaii is hard when it comes to these offers. Can't make use of any of them

  • The whole foods is awesome if you have the PR Gold. 3x and they sell Visa gift cards that can be liquidated into money orders.

    • Darn it.. I just added the Whole Foods offer to AMEX Platinum, as I completely forgot about 2x points you get for using PRG. For 3x, it's definitely worth the effort for VGC -> MO's

    • You get the amex email saying thanks for using your amex offer? I didn't. I did a couple of runs at whole foods for vgc and then gave up until I see the bonus points post on my statement.

    • well for all your who raped WF in SCAL, damn you. stop. ruining it for everyone else... its been all pulled. no more selling.

      • Not just in Socal....my local WFs were raped by the greed teams, now they stopped selling GCs. Thanks, a-holes.

  • mostly rubbish... Amex should give us Nordstrom Rack and Hautelook... then they would see some spending.

  • I had bestbuy and homedepot autoadded to my account, unless I was drunk and didn't realize I added them. Also got an amazon: Spend $50+, get 2,000 Membership Rewards® Points

  • I had $25 off J crew $125 spend on one of my cards. Good between April 3-May 16

  • Not at all exciting. You still get more savings buying discounted gift merchant gift cards and then using them online or in store.

I've never shopped homedepot online. Can anyone tell me what they sell online that would qualify for this?

  • I got the blue for biz amex card during their sign up offer of 2x MR points on the first $50k.

So with this promotion would I be earning 4x MR points?

    • Technically it will be 3.3x.

2x year 1 bonus, 1x for this "double rewards" offer, and then you get 30% bonus points on base spend at end of year.

Also PRG is a pretty good one for spending on the restaurants it will be 3x

      • Yes, this is what I got from a Best Buy purchase.

Remember that you can buy "online" and then go pick up at the store, which is what I did.

      • What do you think is worth more at the end of the day? Using Chase Ink to buy from PPDG to earn 5x UR for best buy or using my blue for biz for 3x MR. I would assume the UR points since you can get an easy value of 7.5 cents if you transfer them to partners etc.

        • Points-wise obviously the Ink with 5x is better. However, if you're buying electronics at BB, which most people do, a case could be made for using your CC to get return protection & extended warranty.
